Horrible system with horrible customer…
Horrible system with horrible customer service. Don’t waste your time. I blame my kidney failure on this piece of junk. Very inaccurate and will actually make you worse off.

I was actually shocked when I went on here and saw all the bad reviews - that’s not been my experience at all. I’m on the Dashh and whilst I do occasionally have pod failures (although this is rare for me) they’ve been replaced without any issues when I’ve reported it. My PDM stopped working last night and I called customer service, hung up 22:27 and at 01:15 a courier knocked on the door and delivered a new PDM (this is unbelievably good service?!). The reordering process has mostly been very smooth for me (done over phone or online form, delivered very promptly either the next day or 3-4 days later). The only exception was one time where I called to order but for some reason the order never went through (?) and when I called again a couple of days later after realising I never received a confirmation email a new order was placed and sent. I always order new pods after opening the last box of pods (meaning 8-10 pods left). For reference I live in the UK (London) and a lot of these negative reciews seem to come from US customers, so perhaps the customer service over there is not as good.

All my supplies have been sitting in my bedroom for 3 months waiting for a “Trainer” to call me. I have called Omnipod several time and they promise to have someone call me back, but still no calls. I give up. Worst company EVER. I DO NOT recommend.

Using the Omnipod 5 has been an eye opening experience, previously using a tubed pump with cannula I had occasional issues, with Omnipod 5 and G6 sensor I am have weekly if not daily issues, not connecting, constant alerts although a blood glucose reading is perfect. I am seriously looking at reverting back to a tubed insulin pump due to the poor performance and lack of support regarding this system.

I am very frustrated. I was diagnosed DM1 at 17, I am now 63. This was my first pump. I had declined previously approvals. I have been a RN for 38 years and have seen some wonderful responses to systems thru the years but they seemed quality of life limiting. I was a busy nurse, busy with daily gym workouts and time consuming hobbies. Pump systems always seemed like they would be in the way. Very controlled diabetes until the last 10 years. So I caved and started on Omnipod 5. The transition was confusing and not well organized or communicated. My daily glucose and food spikes are thru the roof. I developed and abscess at insert site. Nothing good to say yet. My A1C is up.

This is a deeply flawed and dangerous system. The pod does not connect properly to the sensor unless they are right next to each other. The communication between the two fails constantly. The pods are so cheaply produced that they fail regularly and without skin adhesive won’t stay on once wet. The cannula is cheap and often causes bleeding or blocks. The handset sounds a high glucose alert even when your glucose is coming down. It sounds a low glucose alert when your glucose is going up. That is how badly and cheaply the software has been designed. Alerts cannot be silenced. It will do this constantly until you switch it off out of frustration. Customer services do not answer and hang up on you once they do answer. You cannot request replacements via your online login. Omnipod will not replace a pod that has fallen off or one that has sounded the screamer alarm. Apparently this got past NICE guidelines in the UK. How did they achieve that? Basically this is being farmed out because it is cheap. It will completely consume a huge amount of your time and drive you to insanity. Avoid it at all costs.

The only way omnipod is better than T-Slim is there is no need for tubes to be constantly hanging out of you; other than that T-Slim is better than Omnipod in every possible way. The last pod I activated didn't insert the cannula into me, so after almost 24 hrs of my glucose being so high it wouldnt even give me a number; ot just said High. Someone told me they could smell my insulin which is how i realized my high reading for 24 hrs was a result of the cannula not being inserted. When i just called customer service to report this issue they refused to give me a replacement because I couldn't provide them with the serial number. Who actually keeps the packaging after inserting a new pod? If you have an issue with your pod and you didn't keep the packaging to provide the serial number they wont do a thing for you to help. If you are reading this to decide which pump you want and tubes connecting the pump to you isn't a big deal I would absolutely recommend T-Slim over Omnipod 100% of the time. Horrible customer service!!!
