I called to get information about adding another teaching credential. I was bounced around and never got anyone who could answer my questions.

The professors were excellent. It felt like they really cared about me and my progress, I wasn’t just a number in the class. The student teaching professors were exceptionally amazing! Trying to get questions answered by my credential program or any other department was a headache. It took multiple emails and weeks of go around before I would get an answer from people. It was very very frustrating and one of the biggest reasons I hesitate to recommend this school.

I have left many messages for my financial aid office and my advisor and they never got back to me ! I had to call until someone answered and every time I got a different answer but, never got a response back when I would call them again! I would never refer anyone to your school !

You are doing everything wrong and never help students. Very neglectful. Too expensive and not there for the students. Nothing good to Say especially the credentials department and advising.

As a busy working adult, I decided to finish my master’s degree here. The program was flexible to my schedule and I felt that I got a lot out of it. All of the assignments centered around working as a team for my program, Engineering Management. The only suggestion I can make is to have a stronger alumni network for job placement. Lucky for me, I was able to leverage my degree for a significant salary increase with another company.

Instructors seemed to be there just for a paycheck. Feedback was lacking on assignments. Grades were given late. I was given a 90/100 and asked for reasons why and the professor told me it was because she thought it was a 90 but couldn't give any specific reasons. She didn't follow the grading criteria. The syllabus often did not match what was posted online and almost never matched what was actually graded. Most professors did not respond to emails until the final week of the course. Most did not take the time to clarify what work was supposed to be done. I feel like this was a degree only in name only. I got my MSOL because I paid for it and not because of the quality of work I did. The writing center was great though. Every session I had was very helpful and each staff member was highly knowledgeable.

Every experience across all areas (financial aide, registrar, advisors, etc.) have made errors in some way and are impossible to get ahold of to fix. I have to continually call/email to follow up on items they made the errors on for help.

I completed my MA in Strategic Communication in May, which required 10 courses. It ended up taking over a year because I needed to take breaks - either because I didn’t have the prerequisites for the classes offered that term, or just because I wanted a break. Overall I was very pleased with the program. It is one course at a time and each course is 4 weeks, so it’s definitely a grind. Breaks were essential for me. The advisors were very helpful in figuring out which courses I could take in which order, even helping me petition to take some out of order to graduate faster. It is designed for full-time employed adults, which is good because it requires a lot of time management skills. It’s not the sort of program I could have managed at 17, but it was a good fit for me as a working adult. The courses I took had a live lecture every Monday or Tuesday, but they were recorded in case I had to miss. They also offered this program called DART, which gave a big discount on textbooks. Professors were flexible as long as students were communicative. This program had some of the most knowledgable and dedicated professors I’ve ever encountered, and pushed me to write papers that I’m incredibly proud of. It was also nice to learn alongside career-minded people who took the program seriously. The capstone was great because it focused on professional development, and a lot of the program work I’d already completed went toward my portfolio. I would certainly recommend this school to busy adults looking to better themselves.
