This company are a bunch of thieves and liars. I just called as our payment has been removed from our account once again, only to find out that our contract is until 2020 or so when we were advised it was a 1 year maybe 2 at the most and there is a $3000 cancellation fee????? I have not been able to use my system since I changed cable companies and each (cable and Northstar keep passing the buck to the other. I can not use the app on my phone for my cameras and more. I have contacted them several times and they tell me call my cable company and my cable company has no idea what to do about the alarm. They will not send anyone out and now that I have called about cancelling, they advise me of this ridiculous cancellation fee and the length of the contract. I am SO over this I am ready to rip the equipment out of my house and throw it in the middle of the street. NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS WOULD WE EVER SIGN THAT LONG OF A CONTRACT, NOT EVEN ON OUR VEHICLE. This company is a bunch of scammers, with not customer service, not tech support that will do anything to fix our issue so we have a NON FUNCTIONING SYSTEM. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR HOME, THEY ARE LIARS AND THIEVES, I will posting all over social media as well as taking their sign and writing this info on it and posting it in the entrance of my neighborhood. The worst experience I have ever had at this point and the cavalier attitude of the rep I just spoke with is ridiculous. If anyone would like to speak to me about this before I call my lawyer and yes I keep one on retainer as I am an Insurance Agent, you can reach me @ 210-373-4915

"I MADE THE WORST DECISION IN MY LIFE" getting this security system installed at my residence on November 18th, 2017. Today is April 16th, 2018 and I'm still experiencing issues. I CAN'T GET HOLD OF technical support, customer service , not even the regional manager of this area ! My alarm system has been working on and off until yesterday in which both security panels are frozen. MY HOME IS NOT PROTECTED NEITHER AM I !

I've had NorthStar Home for over 10 years now. I will not switch due to their ability to keep my home secure and safe at a reasonable price. Are they the lowest? Of course not. They offer quality products. Are they the most expensive? Nope. They provide what I need at the price I can pay. I also love their Tech Support. What a brilliant idea to give the customer an opportunity to fix an issue with the system over the phone before sending out a tech. If it can be fixed with just a few minutes over the phone then I say, "Great! Let's do it." I also saw some interesting comments about NorthStar's agreements/contracts and auto-renew. It's all in the contract before you signed it. If you don't read your contract...then don't sign it and get all bent out of shape after the fact. You only have yourself to blame! So stop taking time out of your schedule to write a negative review when it's NorthStar that should write a review on its customer's that sign the agreement before they read and agree to the terms. How about you take a minute to write a review on the reps and/or technicians that did all they could to ensure you had a positive experience AFTER you signed and agreed to the contract. I appreciate what NorthStar has done for me and my family. I recommend NorthStar Home to everyone. Even my family and friends. Thank you, NorthStar!

I have no issue with the monitoring of my Northstar Home Alarm System. The response time is above par. I do have an issue with your customer service department. When I called regarding a sensor that would not stay in place the customer service person offered to "walk me through it". Not what I expected. Technicians that installed said, "call me if you have a problem" and gave their personal cell phone numbers. Never got a response. The same with the "camera doorbell" Northstar installed. It has never worked properly, the technician cannot be found, and I don't want someone to "walk me through it" I want someone to come and fix it! If it had been working properly I would have the identification of the person(s) who stole the package off of my porch at Christmas.

This has to be the worst company I've ever dealt with! The sales people are corrupt, and will tell you anything, just to make a sale. Then when you call the company, they imply you're lying. Stay away!

Auto-renew contracts without notice should be illegal. Got stuck into an extra 18-month contract paying double the amount we would be paying with a competitor. So after 5 years, now stuck for another year and a half. Won't forget to send that written notice (that we weren't even aware of) this time.

NorthStar Alarm Company based in Utah- Is a prejudice, discriminate against black people, I have never been treated this badly by a company, stay away please! This is a horrible company to do business with, with all the country is going through to fight prejudice and bigotry, this company is embracing it.
