I am the type of shopper that researches in detail to find exactly what I am looking for in quality of product, service, and price and I am completely satisfied with Nick"s; this is why they receive a five star rating with me. I ordered one of their stained prehung handcarved doors. After visiting the site and reading reviews I asked my contractors ahead of time to plan on installation of door 8 weeks from the time of purchase. I ordered the door in mid April, production time to finish the door was six weeks, and delivered to me by seventh week. . Please, please, please give your project the time frame that is needed to finish and deliver you the quality product that you desire,the quality of product that I know that Nick's want to deliver, and you, Nick's and your contractors will be very happy. The door that I replaced was a wood door, but this wood door stands out! They curb appeal that it adds and value to you home is priceless. Yes, I see that they have had some unhappy customers, but that's in every business. I'm here to say that I'm not always the easiest to please; I have been labeled as an over achiever and a perfectionist and Nick's gets my vote and I would purchase from them again. I used the lift freight service and the door was delivered without incident, and my contractors had no difficulty with installation. I have received so many wonderful compliments on the quality, craftsmanship, and beauty of this door. Thanks Nick's once again for your service and making this homeowner a very happy one.

I recently purchased interior doors from Nick's. They were mahogany and I wanted them pre-hung. I assumed, apparently wrongly, that the jambs would be mahogany as well. I was surprised when I opened the crate to find Poplar jambs. When I called and spoke with Mike to express my displeasure with the jambs that did not match he could not have cared less or been less helpful. He said I got what I ordered and mahogany doors come with poplar jambs. He said I could send them back if I wanted but we were under a time crunch so we had to use what they sent. The order did not say what the jambs were at all. I will not be ordering from Nick's again.

order was more than a couple of wks. slower in being filled than I thought-- according to the company's own info. & some minor damage on 1 (of 4) doors-- maybe not bad enough to return for exchange-- I'll need to talk to (Nick's) the door vendor. It appears as though something scratched/scraped against 1 (of 2 same) Mahogany Interior doors. What ever it was that happened to the door, left a gouged line across the broad side which is several inches long. The gouge is about 1/8 of an inch deep @ the deepest spot & is green-- as if something painted green & harder than the door scraped against it. I don't see how this could have happened in transport, b/c there was no visible damage to either 2 crates. Also, the delivery driver (Rick), from ABF Freight Systems absolutely refused to stay after he off loaded my 2 crates-- not giving us a chance to inspect the doors while he was there. His reply to my asking him to wait while we inspect the doors, was quote; ''No-- time is money'' This is unacceptable-- after being told by the door vendor (Nick's), both on a phone call to sales rep. 'Elizabeth' & a follow-up email from 'Mike', that I was supposed to inspect the doors & if there was damage, I could give the damaged article(s) back to the transport truck immediately. I have a further problem with ABF Freight delivery driver (Rick). He was 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours early-- according to what his dispatcher (Owen @ 800-610-5544 & 250-718-6363)-- told me to expect-- who I spoke to the day before & the morning of the delivery when I called him @ 9:10 am Sept. 30th. This was awkward for us b/c the 2 friends that had agreed to meet up w/me & driver Rick (recommended to make off-loading safer & quicker) had to be re-contacted by me (& Rick by cell phone), in order to hastily change the delivery time. My 2 friends were @ their own day jobs & luckily were still able to make it. These 2 friends were witnesses to be able to verify all that I have stated here & I can provide their names & phone #'s.

I'm in Canada and required some custom doors for a garage / workshop. Having looked through all my local options, I came across Nick's Building, and was impressed with the range of options and very reasonable prices. It was actually cheaper for me to order the doors, and have them shipped to Canada even with the current exchange rate, than it was to get custom options locally. They arrived very well crated, and in mint condition. The quality is better than expected. I chose unfinished doors and got to know them intimately while finishing them. Excellent craftsmanship. Highly recommended.

Great doors, great hardware. delivery took 3 weeks from date of order. pretty much what was said of a 2-3 week delivery. Would buy from them again.

Very impressed with the quality of the doors AND hardware. Most importantly, the personal service and attention to my orders has been outstanding. No reason to order from stores around here. I now go direct to the manufacturer for all my doors! Try Nick's - you won't regret it.

The employees at Nicks Building are honest, knowledgeable, and polite. And the doors are beautiful. They picked a great shipper, too. If you've ever wondered about a large purchase like this done online, I can tell you from lots of personal experience, NOBODY can beat a great online vendor, either in customer service, product knowledge, willingness to assist, or pure value.
