NeedTags charges are outrageous! $149 just for them to handle a title change on a $10,000 boat? I could have use DMV for nothing but their usual small fees. They don't warn you of service charges until they already have your money.

Absolute garbage service. Shocked it's even legal. Smogged my car 8 weeks ago, their email said: "We do not need a hard copy of the certificate. Our system will check your vehicle's smog records twice daily." The DMV says they've received smog. It shows I've paid this service. Don't use it. It's a 100% scam.

Ridiculously high prices (Is this even legal ?) No disclaimer that this is NOT an official (.gov) DMV site No refund on registration fees incase you paid in error.

a 50 dollar charge? Ridiculous. PLUS shipping?! you guys are high. it was tricky the way it snuck in looking like the Real DMV web site.... i was ready to mail a check to dmv until i realized my error. BOOO. Shame on you.

Ok, I was stupid. I clicked on the first link when I googled 'renew vehicle license CA DMV'. It looks like the DMV website and there's a bunch of fees attached. I fell for it, because I didn't really pay close attention, fair enough. Now that is telling about the purpose of this company - to prey on brain-farty people. F*uck you!

I read a lot of the reviews. I agree it is a deceptive site. This is not like getting a passport expedited, there is no need to pay extra, to get your registration sticker in hand. This is because once you register your car with the DMV you are in the system as being paid and current. The police/officers are able to check their system and can see your vehicles registration is valid and up-to-date.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review SUPERBUZZ! NeedTags strives to provide full transparency at all times. In fact, on the header of every page of the website, we display the following text: “NOTICE: NeedTags has been officially licensed by the California Department of Motor Vehicles to provide DMV services on their behalf. NeedTags is not owned or operated by any government agency and charges fees for value-add DMV services pursuant to CVC Section 1685. Standard service may be obtained from the DMV at no cost.” We display this text on every page of our website, up to and including on our checkout page, so that our users have every opportunity to identify that they are utilizing a value-add DMV service provider; the highest rated in California. NeedTags is not the DMV and makes absolutely no claims to that effect. NeedTags is a delegated provider for the California Department of Motor Vehicles, authorized to process motor vehicle transactions on the department’s behalf. We operate under Occupational License #89953, and can be found via the DMV business partner search tool located here: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv-online/. Our registration renewal user interface is connected to the California Department of Motor Vehicles in “real-time”. It is part of what makes NeedTags highly efficient, allowing for new registration cards and stickers to be processed quickly and delivered as fast as next-day... a tremendous benefit to our valued customers. We encourage you to contact our customer support team at (800) 300-7311 for a welcomed opportunity to discuss your concern further.

An awful and deceptive site that pays Google to place their ad above legitimate DMV website. Then you are hit with $72 in fraudulent fees. BUYER BEWARE and do to official DMV website!!!
DR
Well, I was duped and thought this was the REAL DMV site. Just like other reviews, I too was charged and extra 70$. I am NOT happy at all. I was wondering why my purchase section did not send to a cart, like it usually does on the REAL DMV site. Now I know. Live and learn and never again!
