I paid for a subscription to National Geographic Travel Magazine with a gift card. Two months later, I received one magazine and then nothing for three months. When I called to find out why they had only sent one issue, I was told that they needed a credit card that they could bill. Apparently, since they couldn't get more money out of me, they cancelled the subscription that I had already paid for. What a scam!!!

My sister received an email at Xmas and bought a National Geographic Food subscription as a present. Nothing arrived. After several complaints one magazine turned up. After more complaints we were lied to " we have only published one copy" yet we had seen 3 in WH Smiths. We then received an email saying it had merged with National Geographic Traveller and that we would now get 10 Traveller plus a quarterly Food magazine. Nothing has turned up. I have now referred to the Serious Fraud Office and to the Police on Action Fraud. I am asking for legal advice on sending out a closure notice on the company as i can only imagine they have run out of cash (in which case they would be trading illegally) or that they are deliberately taking customers money and details without any intention of delivery. We have had to alter our credit card used on the off-chance it is some elaborate scam. I have written to the HQ of the National Geographic in the USA also and would advise others to do the same. APL Media appear to have the license for the publication in the UK and they are seriously damaging this iconic brand. I have also spoken to them. i have called them on numerous occasions and am always no 3 in the queue irrespective of how long i am on the phone (minutes or hours). I have eventually spoken to someone in finance who laughed and said "nothing will come of it". I am now rounding up action - please all report to the Police Action Fraud website so that the police can investigate why this company is taking money and card details without any form of service or intention to service. Please also email National Geographic themselves in USA so they can take action to withhold the licence from this company which has no apparent intention of supplying what they promise and every apparent intention of simply taking details and money.

My daughter had had NG kids magazine for the past two years and has loved it. I tried to renew again in December and wasn’t sure if the subscription had gone through. I tried to contact Creature Media about this but afternoon not hearing anything for several weeks decided the payment obviously hadn’t gone through. However, since January I have been receiving 2 magazines. I have tried 5 times to contact Creature Media about this, which in itself has been difficult as contact channels are difficult to find. I am yet to receive a single response. I will be contacting Citizens Advice Bureau about this next week. Feel so let down as the magazine itself is wonderful.

Such disappointment!!! My boyfriend got me a 1 year subscription for Christmas and have only received 1 so far since January. I was so excited about it. I recommend you not to get it, better buy it in a shop if you really want it, otherwise it;s a scam.

I took a subscription out in November and have only had one magazine so far. Really terrible customer service, when I phoned to complain they didn't care and blamed the weather! Don't take a subscription out.

I've a son studying earth n ocean sciences and I felt a year's subscription would be a lovely birthday gift. My one star to the mail order dept. Is for being so good at taking people's hard earned subscription fees for magazine issues that aren't posted out and its especially heartless to do this to gift recipients who end up with no gift. Dreadfully non existent service for money submitted.

If you are thinking of giving a years subscription to someone as a present...DON'T ! NGMservices just don't bother posting them out, you maybe get one or two if you are lucky, and complaining to them seems pointless. Save your money or go and buy a copy at your local newsagents.

NATGEO! Just wow.. I love it, I grew up watching NatGeo. Best ever :)
