I’ve not heard back from customer service in almost 2 months after sending multiple emails and calling the customer support team multiple times.
As you read all of these reviews, you can see that flying Malaysia Airlines is a risk.

business class = peasant class
Flying Business Class with Malaysia Airlines to Bali was a joke. No priority boarding, seats felt like Economy, and the food—let’s just say you’d be better off with a snack pack. Nothing about this so-called “Business” class was worth the price.
Honestly, you’d get a better experience as a monkey in a cage. Save your money and fly with an airline that actually delivers on the Business Class promise.
All in all, truly disgusting.

Personally it is the staff who are…
Personally it is the staff who are truly dreadful. They are permanently seen with their faces buried in their phones. They announce turbulence every 5 minutes so that the staff can run to sit down and once again, bury their faces back in their phones, we just felt the worlds mildest turbulance. 🙄
The food isn't fit for humans and frankly, I personally, would not offer it to my dog. It stinks, its fake and the portions are miniscule, ok for a 3 yr old maybe but for a man???? I peeled off the foil lid and water poured over my top and lap and the food reeked badly. No salt, no pepper or anything to improve taste. And anyway, that's all you get for a 14 hr journey. The entertainment is dreadful, stuffed full of ads and giant size subtitles that cannot be removed should you not need them. I had an emergency trip from Manila to UK, I needed to make certain inquiries but absolutely impossible to speak with any one wether in the airport, boarding gate or by phone because if you interrupt them whist on their mobiles they give you a dirty look and rush hard to return to the phone. It's actually very disturbing to see. I just cannot understand how your employer can allow you to wreck their company like that but that's exactly what it is, wrecked!!!

Really horrible experience with…
Really horrible experience with Malaysia Airlines. Got delayed by 13 hours, promised us that we would be compensated for the delay and expenses and that we should get in touch with customer service. Customer service basically told me they won’t be paying. Unbelievable.

Dont fly with Malaysia Airlines
There were 4 of us on our return flight 19 July 2024 from Manila to Auckland with a connecting flight from Kuala Lumpur- Auckland.
We did not receive any notice from Malaysian Airlines despite booking it months before the trip, until we were checking in for Manila - Kuala Lumpur flight. We were told we were DENIED BOARDING for the Kuala Lumpur- Auckland flight due to OVERBOOKING OF 30 PEOPLE. We were not given any choice, we were rebooked the next day 20 July 2024 despite informing them that a family member is sick and needs to be sent to the hospital as soon as we arrive home plus we paid for a shuttle to bring us home 3 hours away from the airport.
Very poor service from the airline receptionist when we arrived in Kuala Lumpur.
We were not given breakfast voucher. We were given dinner voucher worth 35 ringgit =NZ$12, hotel accomodation 30 minutes drive from the airport & a voucher 930 RInggit= NZ $337 for a next booking with Malaysian airline.
BUT WHY ON THE EARTH WILL We EVER BOOK WITH THEM?
We reached Auckland at 1045 pm. Originally 1245noon so we missed our shuttle.
We had to rebook for the shuttle the next day 21 July 2024 to go home. Stayed at the airport overnight. No support from malaysian airline ground crew, they just told us to email their contact center.
We were not compensated for the shuttle we missed in Auckland and time wasted plus the stress, exhaustion and lack of sleep because of their negligence. We had to rebook for the shuttle for the next day and wait for at least 9 hours as we got to the airport late at night.
Of my 19 years of air travel, this is the WORST AIRLINE to book with.

Malaysia Airlines charging over $2000 for extra bags on flights
Malaysia airlines are trying to charge me $1000 to add 20kg of bags to a flight. This is after I was charged over $1200 for bags at the airport, having mistakenly booked a lite fare. I’ve been told by their customer service that there is nothing they will do to help, and they won’t entertain any communication with me. How is it fair for Malaysia Airlines to charge more than the cost of one of our tickets for baggage? Extremely disappointing customer service and a lack of empathy from this company.
I understand that this is mentioned in their terms and conditions and policies. I’m not looking for another repetition of these. Is it not the case that this company advises that adding additional bags is cheaper when done online and prior to the flight? How can this be true when their website is trying to charge $1200 for an extra 10kg per person? We paid $1300 at the airport, so the charges on the website are practically the SAME as adding it at the airport. When I’ve challenged this the only option provided by the customer service team is to reschedule our flight and select the next tier up, at a cost of over $600. How is this a good or acceptable way forwards?
They mention that the customer service team have responded with the utmost care, but all they have done is continue to point out that the fault is mine for selecting the wrong fare type by mistake. Malaysia Airlines changed their baggage policy in Sept 2023, and so I was caught unaware of this as I had flown with your company many times in the past and always had bags included.
What I am looking for now is a fair option to upgrade our bags that doesn’t leave us $2000 out of pocket - more than the cost of one of our tickets! We are trying to do the right thing by adding these in advance of our flights. MH only charges $20 to upgrade bags during the booking process, how can it be fair to charge so much now?
Malaysia airlines has the opportunity to resolve this issue and extend a gesture of goodwill to a regular customer. Offering us a fair solution for adding bags would demonstrate that this company cares and is interested in delivering an excellent customer experience, but it seems they are more interested in penalising us. Why won’t MH make the effort to help us out with this issue?
