I’m so grateful for lifestance and my provider. Making appointments and getting to the office is very accessible. Everyone there is kind and helpful. I had tried a few other places before lifestance and almost gave up, I’m so glad I didn’t my provider has helped me so much! I am beyond thankful!

I would give a zero if I could. The phone menu is outragious and it is very hard to get a human. Impossible to cancel an appointment without being on the phone for a very very long time. For a company dealing in counseling, that is really bad! If I was anxious or angry or desperate before, that holding caused it to amplify. You can't confirm or cancel when they send a text, you can only confirm, your only hope is to hold forever. I had to pay $100 cancel fee because I could not hang on forever. It would have been cheaper to sign in and tell her I didn't need to talk anymore on the appointment.

I was charged $100 for not cancelling an appointment that I didn't make. I have tried to get this corrected, and if it does, I will come back and amend this review. Edit 6.11.26: Took this long, but they finally removed the charge. Still won't be going back....

I received statements showing a balance of $103.04. After multiple calls and escalations, I was later informed the balance was actually $380 due to an insurance denial that occurred months earlier. I was never proactively notified of the denial, and the patient portal did not provide sufficient billing history for me to understand the charge. Unprofessional and DONT USE IT.

I would not recommend LifeStance based on my experience with their billing practices, lack of clear communication, and unclear refund policy/timeline. My concern is not with paying legitimate charges. I paid and am not disputing a separate late-cancellation fee. My concern is that I mistakenly paid online for a questionable $235 professional-service charge that I had already disputed months earlier and that LifeStance still has not properly validated. Throughout 2025, my statements repeatedly showed similar services being processed with insurance pending and low patient responsibility, such as $12.98 or $15.00. I was also not clearly informed for nearly 12 months that the provider I had been transitioned to may have been out of network for my behavioral-health benefits. Patients should be clearly informed when a provider transition may affect network status, insurance processing, or patient responsibility. When the later $235 charge was shifted to full patient responsibility, I requested documentation showing that the correct behavioral-health payer was billed, the claim was properly adjudicated, and that I was actually responsible for the full amount. I did not receive clear validation before continued billing and collection-pressure language. After mistakenly paying online, I immediately requested a refund of only the disputed $235 professional-service charge. The refund timeline was unclear and kept changing — first end of day, then another day, then at least 15 business days or possibly up to a month. Patients should not have to spend months trying to get basic billing validation, payer-routing clarification, network-status documentation, or a clear refund timeline. The process has been frustrating, delayed, and unnecessarily stressful.

I am dissatisfied with every single aspect, from the scope of what they decided to do for me, the final report with inaccuracies, how they charged me and my insurance for the time to fix it, how I can't get an itemized bill from them, how long they took to do the whole thing, how they failed to mark my deductible with my insurance so I ended up paying my deductible twice this year. Every single aspect was ... to keep it civil, messed up.

I loved my therapist. Unfortunately, the Billing Dept tries to scam you. I attempted to cancel a Monday appt on Friday. There was no answering service. I tried again on Sat/Sun. No answering service. When I called first thing Monday, I was told I would be charged a late fee. Trying to get them to understand was mind boggling. Then I realized something was off. I looked this company up only to find there are MANY complaints against them for "predatory" billing and business practices. Reporting them to BBB. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
