Repeated Errors
On June 25,2026, I received an email informing me that my sunglasses were ready for pickup. Shortly after receiving the email, I also received a phone call informing me that the prescription sunglasses were ready for pickup. During that call, I was offered a $50.00 refund to compensate for the three unnecessary trips I had made because of repeated errors with my orders. I declined the offer because I did not feeling fairly compensated me for the time, inconvenience, fuel and mileage I had already incurred. With gasoline currently costing approximately $1.65 per litter, and after making multiple trips to this location, a $50.00 refund did not adequately reflect the actual costs and inconvenience I experienced. Yesterday, June 26 I made my 4th trip to the optical shop 0913 111th St & 51Avenue Edmonton AB to pick up my sunglasses. I was assisted by the store manager Jaz. Initially, when I tried on the sunglasses in the store, they seemed fine. I thanked the staff and left. However, after wearing them for approximately 5-10 minutes while walking through the mall, I began feeling pressure in my right eye and felt nauseated. I sat down on a bench, took out my receipt, and attempted to read it. The text appeared doubled and blurred, and no matter how I tried to refocus, my vision did not improved. It immediately felt like I was wearing my old prescription from over two years ago instead of my new one. I returned to the store and was assessed by the store optician, Karla. She explained several technical aspects and attempted to adjust the height of the lenses, but the clarity and sharpness of my prescription sunglasses to my clear prescription glasses, and the difference was obvious. My eyes clearly indicated that something was wrong with the lenses, regardless of the adjustments that were made. After measuring my vision, Karla concluded that the sunglasses would need to be sent back to the laboratory for further correction. At this point, I am very concerned by the number of errors that have occurred with my order. Between the inaccurate pickup notifications, multiple unnecessary trips to the store, and now receiving prescription sunglasses that appear to have the wrong prescription, I have lost confidence in the quality control and service at this location. I expect this issue to be resolved promptly and accurately, and I would appreciate an explanation of how so many errors occurred with a single order.
