Bought the Kryptonite Level 5 14 mm U-Lock Bicycle Lock with Looped Bike Security Cable lock. It is stated ATPO but cannot register my lock since there is no related family. It is impossible to reach customer service via phone or website. The company obviously lies about ATPO.

I'm pretty annoyed by the Anti Theft Protection "Offer". It's an offer to buy more stuff from them. I was under the impression that if I registered the lock I'd get some protection. That's what I was led to believe at the shop. I suppose I will, but that protection is going to cost me even more. Sure seems like a scam. Edit: Kryptonite has responded, and clarified nothing. The offer is still an offer to spend more money on the lock. The sticker on the package tells me the amount of the coverage I can buy. How convenient.

I ordered a repayment key and recieved a reply to say that there could be a 2 week delay 2 months ago. I've heard nothing back.

Anti theft offer keeps asking me for 14.99$ even though the lock I got should be free for a year as it’s 7/10. Filled the form out twice fully and correctly and it keeps saying $14.99 even though I’m in the Uk and everything is in £. Can’t be bothered trying to contact them cos everyone says you don’t get a response. What a waste of time spent 30 mins doing this and each time I cancel it I need to start again. Keep to your word kryptonite.

I have contacted Kyrponite on multiple occasions and its taken weeks for a reply. I now find myself in a position where I have purchased ANOTHER lock after not getting a reply regarding replacement keys. I have lost the keys for this new lock and contacted Kryptonite (the keys are registered, it should be a simple matter of being sent a replacement) but I worry this same situation is going to occur of no contact for weeks (during which I can't lock up my bike or use it). The only way to contact them is through a form which says 'we have a high backlog will get back to you asap'.

Applied for ATPO claim. Got an email confirming that it would take at least a 30 day waiting period before they could process my claim. They also said they would update me within 5-7 after the claim. No responses to any of my emails or requests. It has been over 40 days now. Very annoyed and disappointed. EDIT: This is unbelievable they replied to my question and I gave them my details and then I was told they would respond to me immediately. It has now been 2 days and still no response. I have a feeling that this will go on for a long time. Very disapointed and annoyed by lack of customer service on the actual kryptonite site yet they were quick to respond on here.

Edit (March 2023): This was originally a 1 star review, but as I received help from the Kryptonite staff afterward, I got the keys. It did take a long time, but it sounds like that won't happen now. The lock is very sturdy but the Key Safe Program is a joke. Submitted a request in March, and the only contact I've had since is an email in April telling me that asking about the status is enough to bump me to the back of the queue. It's now July, and zero contact, zero sign of my keys. What's the point of having the system if it's unusable?

My parents got me a Kryptonite lock for Christmas and after my first week of using it I lost my keys to it. I was able to reach out to customer service and they were incredibly helpful in getting me a new set which they shipped to my dorm. They were so nice during a very stressful time for me!
