The worst airline
The worst airline. You can’t booking luggage in advance. Impossible to find how to do so on their website. Will never use again sadly.

AVOID OR YOU RISK TO LOSE YOUR MONEY AND TIME AND GET APOLOGIES FROM CUSTOMER CARE! I booked and paid €253.79 for a flight with KM Malta Airlines from Malta to Istanbul. I received an email confirmation for this booking and I was charged. On the day of my flight, upon arrival at the airport, at the check-in counter, I was told that my name was not on the passenger list. I was directed to the KM Malta Airlines sales office, where I was informed that my ticket was never issued. This was despite having received a confirmation email and my payment being processed. I never received any notification/email or money refund and only learnt that my ticket was never issued at the airport in the day of the flight. On my question how it was possible, and why I did not receive any notification before the staff told me that it must have been a website problem. They also said don't have a direct connection with Turkish Airlines (which was doing this flight, however the tickets were initially sold by KM Malta) and they can only refund me the amount paid for this ticket and I can buy a new one directly with Turkish Airlines, as they can see that there are still tickets available. I was then forced to purchase a new ticket from Turkish Airlines for a crazy price of €755.79. I was left with no choice, as I had another flight for the same day from Istanbul and I was facing a risk of losing it as well. Later their customer care told me that they cannot refund me the difference and they APOLOGIES for the triple price I paid because of their fault. I can't believe an airline can leave you with no ticket, only inform you at the check-in about it and give you apologies. Don't fly with them.

I spent a fantastic week exploring Malta. Then I flew Malta airlines to Munich (KM0308 19Sept 1540) to catch a connecting flight home, and what appalling service and attitudes I received from two individuals of the cabin crew. My seat was economy class and being 2 metres tall did not fit into it. One other passenger next to me was equally tall and the passenger next to him was shorter but much larger. Immediately I realised that I did not fit in this seat I asked a stewardess (name unknown) that if a seat with more leg room was unoccupied if I could please move to it. She agreed. My two larger passengers seated themselves. Along came Steward Adriaan, who said the this was not good to have 3 big guys seated together (or words to that effect). He called the chap next to me and indicated for him to come so that he could be seated in an emergency exit seat. I spoke to the stewardess who had promised me a seat, and she immediately spoke to Adriaan, who gruffly over-rode her with not even a glance or an apology to me. Subsequently the oversized chap was also moved to the front of the craft in business, a seat with legroom. A short while later, I asked stewardess Kelly very politely if the pilot would be trying to make up time as we left 40 minutes late from Malta International Airport and I was concerned about my connecting flight. It was my previous experience that this was common practice with late flights. She said that she would ask the pilot. She went about her duties, serving meals and refreshments to business class and the pilots in the cockpit. She entered the cockpit on three occasions that I saw. Being a 2hr 30min flight the cabin staff were quickly finished their duties and were then standing around talking to each other. At no time did Kelly come to me to answer my query. At some time later, I saw a uniformed officer (pilot?) exit the cockpit to speak to Adriaan and Kelly, at which time I left my seat to ask the pilot myself what our landing time was. Kelly, who saw me approach the kitchen, angrily and aggressively closed the curtain on me to stop my interaction with the pilot who had entered the toilet. Since I too need the toilet I waited outside the curtain. When the pilot had re-entered the cockpit, she opened the curtain to allow me access to the toilet. Before going in, I asked her about this flight and our estimated landing time to which she promptly stated we would land at 18h10 as per the schedule. We actually landed 18:27. Air stewardess Kelly felt no shame in blatantly lying to me. The rudeness, arrogance and disdain for passengers that the two named individuals above showed me I have never before experienced from cabin staff in the 35 years that I have flown internationally. The blatant contempt they show for passengers other than business class is astounding. I had heard from people that I spoke to about Malta airlines that if possible I should avoid flying this airline as the planes are old and service is shockingly bad, but with the airline partnerships prevalent at smaller destinations this was not possible. Further, looking out my window I saw what was clearly corrosion on this very old aircraft (see attached pics). I will be sharing my review far and wide as these individuals and the training they clearly don't receive from this airline might assist others in avoiding this treatment.

Worst airline Company ever. I booked Teo Plane tickets for my co-workers. At Malta Airport they said that their reservation didn't include Any kind of 10kg hand luggage. they didn't sent Any kind of receipt to the firm email adress. And they couldn't figure It out from their software nor the boarding passes. They had to pay 40€ each to Load the luggage, not cabin space. Also their site Sucks and Is nòt user friendly.

The worst airline ever. A bunch of thieves and liars, order a ticket that includes a trolley, then at the airport they tell you it doesn't include it and demand payment and threaten not to put you on the flight if you don't pay an exorbitant price of 50 euros for a trolley, ugh never again, the company is ruining this wonderful country's tourism business, I will never return to Malta because of their disgusting airline. Update: after we pay they didn’t let us take the carry on bags with us and force us to send it to hold. Such a bad service and such a horrible customer service experience I never saw something like that in my life. They just lie to your face without blinking an eye.

Is this airline a budget airline or a fully fledged carrier? Don’t ask them as they won’t know. If you buy your ticket for the flight through a third-party and then try and buy extra luggage you’ll find that this is impossible to do and you have to spend about 40 minutes in a queue waiting to speak to an operator who in turn tries to charge you an additional charge for not using an online facility!! The website is short of useless, plagued with functional problems The seats onboard the aircraft are in a poor state and the food offering dire. We were flying in business and you’d have thought something edible would have been possible… clearly not The cabin crew clearly had long forgotten about how to serve the public and require a major refresher course … they had no idea how to work as a team … short of useless The only plus point I can say about the whole flight experience was on the ground at Heathrow where business class passengers are given access to the excellent Gulf lounge at terminal 4 I imagine the biggest asset this company possesses is the landing rights they have at Heathrow. With the service level, on the ground and in the air, we experienced, very much doubt if they will be in business in another six months which actually would be a blessing
