I would give it zero if I could
I would give it zero if I could. Items routinely missing. One order not received at all, but they have yet to respond to my email or give me a credit. Very poor service. Do not use.

I signed up for Imperfect Foods hoping it would help me avoid stores during our Covid crisis. Mostly it's done that -- but I suspect Covid, while it's brought the company more customers has also put tremendous strain on it to deliver. And that's been problematic. Mostly I get what I order, but as others have noted you can't count on that. Either there are weird substitutions/omissions (I got 2 packages of fish instead of a chicken and no tamales) or the produce is inedible (my grapes were so old the stems were withered and my white mushrooms were badly, badly bruised with brown spots). The company has been really good about not charging me for their mistakes. So that's a plus. Another plus is the interesting variety of packaged goods. I've gotten some tasty sauces, seasonings and treats that I probably wouldn't have found otherwise. I'll continue using Imperfect because I love the convenience and concept. But I may have to reconsider if they continue to be undependable.

Commercial runs on TV daily and thought what a great Idea. Wrong should have checked reviews. Have never received first order been delayed 3 times each time I did get email with new date 2 days later but now After third delay nothing no new date no info. Cancelled subscription and they say they will have to charge for the pending delayed order. maybe I'll get it!!?? At this point I already went to local store for groceries. Looking at reviews maybe less spending on advertising to get new customers and more spending to take care of existing customers, Definitely would strongly recommend against using this service.

I really wanted to love this service as I think the idea is great -- I understand, the food not being "perfect" but they legitimately shipped me a box of rotten food. The pricing is not competitive -- I can go to Whole Foods buy all the same products that I received for about only $5 dollars more. While Whole Foods might be more expensive, considering most of all the food I got from Imperfect Foods was rotten, Whole Foods would be actually cheaper since It is edible. On a cost, quality, and ethical basis, I will be going to a family-owned market where I can buy all the same products and know they are not rotten for the same price. A comparable experience to Imperfect Foods would be driving to the bank, pulling out $124, driving back home, throwing the cash in my garbage can, and then lighting it on fire. The customer service is nonexistent and the marketing is deceiving (it is not imperfect but rotten). I am incredibly disappointed as I wanted to love this. Horrible execution. Again, I do not mind food being dinged, bruised, or having a strange shape -- It is entirely different when it is rotten or consumed by mold.

I have had very good service from the company and my orders were accurate when I got them. However I.F. uses FedEx to deliver in my area and it has been a 50/50 shot if you actually get your delivery from them. I have found my I.F. orders on multiple neighbors' front porches and notified I.F. After several weeks of this, I requested to be cancelled. It took me a full month of email trading and I thought I was finished with them. Today, however, I got notified that my order had been shipped. I didn't place an order, but I.F. has accessed my credit card for $28.45. I hope FedEx can get this one right just to make sure the order has actually been sent. I once again cancelled my subscription, notified their support team, and notified them that if they ever accessed my credit card or bank account again I would have my lawyer contact them to initiate theft procedures. I hope this doesn't happen, but their actions have got to stop somehow. Watch you bank account closely if you cancel with them.

This is a warning for disabled customers in apartment buildings: imperfect foods refuses to guarantee they will deliver to your door. They say that because of Covid, they are “empowering“ their drivers to only go as far as they are comfortable with. They are also encouraging them to spend as little time in buildings as possible. This is all very well, except they are discriminating against people who can’t pick up heavy boxes from the lobby, and they are endangering their at risk customers. My neighbor is disabled, I am on chemo, And they are the only food company to dump our food boxes in the lobby, where the food sat getting warmer and warmer. A neighbor of ours had two boxes sitting there for hours and they were undoubtedly no good by the time she found someone to retrieve them for her. Then, the delivery person lied to our security guard and said we specifically requested that our boxes be left in the lobby. The customer care team never apologized for the lie, and in fact magnified it by saying they had talked to our apartment manager, which she said never happened. She also made it clear that it’s unacceptable to leave food boxes in the lobby of our apartment building. And of course it’s unacceptable: it’s not a safe spot, the boxes get in the way of people who just want to get their mail and packages (Which are put in lockers by the way), Cardboard boxes leaking Meat and vegetable juice from the “minimal” packaging Are unsanitary for both the customers and other residents of the building. It’s not a business model that can continue. Customer care was at first cheery and dismissive, then passive aggressive. They said they would make a notation on our accounts, but couldn’t guarantee what the driver would do, so they can’t guarantee the driver will do the job and make the delivery to disabled people. This is a discriminatory, ableist policy. Imperfect foods isn’t ready to expand into cities if they can’t handle apartment buildings. They may work for people in single family houses, but otherwise, beware.

I loved the quality of the produce and the very cheap prices for the organic produce. The packing left much to be desired. I didn't check the first few orders, but when I started to notice items missing, it was from EVERY SINGLE ORDER. The order I placed and paid for was literally NEVER right. Not even once. There was always at least one item missing. One time I had $30 worth of items missing. I really loved the quality of the meat and produce, but there is only so much a person can take. The produce and glass jars and cans and meat were all thrown in the same box and not packed with any packing material. The refrigerated items were packed with an ice pack, but often the ice pack had already thawed by the time it was delivered. I really still miss the food. In their favor, they did immediately refund the money for any items I told them were missing. I literally had to go through my shopping list on their website and compare it to what was in the box. A couple of times they even threw in some items I didn't purchase. One time there was organic milk which wasn't even listed on their website. I do miss their food, but enough is enough. . . as long as I can get that kind of food locally, I will do that.

The idea of this company is great, I am all for saving and consuming all those imperfect produce items. The execution, however, leaves much to be desired. I can attest to the other complaints about missing items in orders. It is hard to plan my meals for the week based on items I order from Imperfect Foods. If an item you order is not available, you won't know that until after delivery. Also, a lot of times the items you order are missing from the delivered box. The company is quick at responding to complaint and refunding the missing items, but what good is a refund if you then have to scramble to come up with other meal plans for the week? Also, while I understand the concept of "imperfect" food, I do expect to get a fair value for my money. Sometimes the "imperfection" is simply ridiculous. For example, I ordered a few sweet potatoes at 98 cents a piece. Some of sweet potatoes that came were literally the size of two fingers! They have some excellent products like their fresh-squeezed OJ. But even though I have the item in my weekly order (meaning I am supposed to get it with every weekly order), there were times when they did not have the items, and I didn't find out about it until they deliver it. I think I will wait until they improve their workflow to order from them again.
