A Holiday Inn Disappointment
We’ve had a really disappointing experience with the Holiday Inn timeshare program. After buying in, we quickly realized the financial commitment was way more than we could handle. The monthly loan payments, which stretch well into our retirement years, have become a huge burden. On top of that, the annual maintenance fees are an ongoing cost we just can’t keep up with. What’s worse is the impact this could have on our family. If our kids inherit this timeshare, they wouldn’t be able to afford the maintenance fees, which leaves us feeling really guilty. Plus, our priorities have changed. Our kids are now married with families of their own, and we honestly get more joy out of visiting them than going on timeshare vacations. What we thought would be a good fit for us just hasn’t matched our reality, and now we feel stuck in a commitment we don’t benefit from anymore. If you’re thinking about signing up for this program, we’d urge you to really think about the long-term costs—financially, logistically, and emotionally. For us, it’s been a stressful and disappointing experience.
