I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Headway. They provide a stress-free credentialing process with major insurance entities, competitive reimbursement rates, & a reasonable timeline for claims submissions. The best part, though, is that you can reach an actual human being for support quickly and easily! They create a pro-therapist & pro-client experience. I’ve already referred several colleagues, and they love Headway as well!

I am happy that I decided to join Headway. I love that they take care of everything for me on one platform. It has helped reduce some of the stress of having my own practice. I just recently referred one of my friends to Headway. I did not give them a 5 star review due to the slowness of their response when contacting.

Two stars because Headway does make it easier to find therapists licensed in your state and schedule appointments. This service might be financially advantageous for providers because Headway seems to have negotiated a higher reimbursement rate for therapists than they are able to bill privately (or perhaps not, since Headway might just be taking a huge cut and underpaying providers). And, yes, companies and individual providers CAN negotiate higher reimbursement rates, no matter what Headway’s response to this review is. That said, it sucks for the client. I pay twice what I was paying a former therapist through the same insurance and billing the same CPT code with the same license level in the same state. It’s also unacceptable that the relationship between the therapists and Headway isn’t transparent as it causes unnecessary confusion (for example, some therapists only use Headway for billing but not for scheduling or messaging/client communications, others use it more robustly as their administrator and their telehealth portal, etc). The worst thing about Headway is there is NO direct contact number for a human being (not for clients or providers). If you have an issue, you have to contact support electronically and await an invariably incorrect response which further delays resolution because of the electronic back and forth (whereas a simple phone call would save an enormous amount of time). Further, it’s *really* unacceptable and UNETHICAL that you can’t book an appointment without a credit card on file even if you have no coinsurance/100% coverage/deductible is met. In NO other healthcare setting are you required to have a credit card on file once you’ve provided your insurance info.

Headway has been the easiest way for me to build my private practice with insurance clients. Headway offers an online insurance verification process which allows therapists to provide quick confirmation, and consequently immediate scheduling for sessions.

As a provider, I really appreciate that Headway takes care of all the billing for my clients. They address all the insurance updates, copays, and credit card payments, which saves me time to do my job- talk to my clients. Headway also takes care of sending out the reminder emails and stores my notes.

I am a veteran therapist who started using Headway just one year ago. What most consistently impresses me is their lightning fast responsiveness when I need help with something. Whether it is updating insurance or processing a refund, I know Headway will take care of things professionally and timely. I definitely plan to keep using them and just referred another provider who signed on.

I’m a provider on the platform, and it makes things so easy to schedule and be billed. I only wish I could process Medicaid/Medicare clients via the platform as well as wishing they took more insurances in my state. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend to other providers.

As a provider, Headway takes the burden of insurance verification and billing off of me without a monthly or annual fee. I do sometimes get referrals from there as well and if I need to find another provider I have access to a large network. The Headway team is always available to assist with this. They do try to respond to my inquires within a timely matter and have made improvements in both this and the user experience.
