It's a scam.
Where to start? Purchased 5-year warranties for four appliances when we got our kitchen redone last year--I had no idea these warranties were scams and will definitely let the appliance store (which was awesome) know not to use Guardsman any more. I filed a claim for a broken microwave three months ago. They sent us a technician who said, "oh, you need a part" and left, and we never heard from him again. The tech's number was disconnected; Guardsman gave me a new number for a business with the same name in a *completely different state*--then they gave me another number that goes straight to VM. I explained this, and Guardsman said they had to confirm that the OOS number was in fact OOS and wouldn't service me (I'm in Maryland, business is in Kentucky :) ), and they couldn't give me a referral to another tech, even though the first seems to out of business. Twice, I was told the case had been escalated, and they would call me back. Never happened. Honestly, a broken microwave is not a huge deal. But I did pay for the warranties, and I don't like feeling cheated, which is exactly what is happening. Very soon, I'll file a complaing with the BBB against Guardsman/Amynta unless I can recover what I spent for the warranties, and I'll just pay out of pocket for repairs. This runaround isn't worth it.
