We have 2 bichons both under the age of 4. Our little girl has ongoing chronic issues as a result of IBD and liver problems. Petplan has made it possible for us to provide her with the best of care including acupuncture and other holistic supplements that have enabled us to keep her off of steroidal and antibiotic treatments. She rarely vomits, is beautiful and happy. Everyone is always so friendly and eager to help whenever we have a question or concern...most recently Jordyn S. Choosing Petplan above the others was one of the best decisions we’ve made other than bringing our balls of fluff home. So happy we have them on our team.

Note: I originally posted this review for the wrong PetPlan. This is the one in the U.S. that changed since I signed up with them. Since I wrote this review, one of my cats has died and I'm waiting for PetPlan to pay for the final bills. After I lost 3 cats to cancer, thyroid, and kidney conditions prior to my current cats, I thought that insurance made sense to help pay the bills. However, the way this company now operates is just plain wrong. It's insensitive. Don't do it. My advice: Read the fine print with any insurance company. And don't expect that what you buy today will stay the same. In this case, it surely didn't. And now my cats are older and have pre-existing conditions, so I can't switch. My choice is to keep paying this company or go without insurance and hope for the best. I'm still deciding which is worse. PetPlan used to be a good insurance company that paid their claims and charged a reasonable amount. They changed underwriters a few years back. When they did that, they charged a lot more and covered a lot less. They pay BY THE CONDITION, EACH plan year. It's not a yearly inclusive deductible, so don't be fooled. One of my cats has 3 conditions. They put the $300 deductible against EACH condition. So, though I've spent over $1,000 on this one cat, and $447 on one condition alone during this current plan year, they have paid me a grand total of $13.17. Yet I've paid out hundreds, perhaps even thousands of dollars to them in the past 9 years. Again, just don't do it. Not with this company, anyway.

Petplan really saved the day for my Chihuahua who needed dental surgery. And Jordyn S was so helpful in getting my claim expedited. I 💕 Petplan!!!

When we got our two dogs, the one thing I said I must have was pet insurance. A lot of people said it was a waste of money and I was crazy for doing it. I didn’t care. I never wanted to choose between my families financial health and the life of a family member (our dogs). Going with PetPlan has been the best decision as both dogs have suffered costly injuries such as a luxating patella ($1,000), two canine crucible ruptured ($10,000), back nerve pain ($500), emergency visits for fluid in lungs ($500), and other visits. The most costly has been the CCL tears and because of PetPlan, I was able to give Charlie the best treatment, gold standard operations, rehab, medicine, and much more. Every time I met with the vet, they tried to warn me about the cost. It was great being able to say “I don’t care, I have pet insurance.” The claims process is easy and the PetPlan team is AMAZING. Hands down AMAZING. You get personal attention, and they even called after major surgeries to check on Charlie after I’ve filed the claim. I mean my own insurance company doesn’t do that for me...just saying. The one thing I’ll say, don’t wait to get it. Get it as soon as possible. We got it for them when they were puppies and it has been very affordable, but knowing what I know now...I would still get it even if it was a little more costly.

I can't compare them to any other pet insurance companies because I never had a reason to look any further than petplan. Always terrific and simple. I saw a review about them denying a claim because the owners didn't take the dog for yearly check ups. That should be something that does not to be explained to an animal owner. Great people answering the phones there also.

The VERY BEST pet insurance there is. Please look nowhere else.

I highly recommend petplan insurance. The employees are extremely informative, highly experienced and exceptionally helpful. The claim turnaround time has been superb. Unfortunately, I’ve had to submit a few claims for my beloved dog and petplan has promptly sent a check each time. I will never have a pet again without petplan insurance

Jordyn was a joy to speak with. She made me feel much better about the ridiculous mistake I made on my claim form. I feel quite confident that she will see it gets taken care of. I am SO happy that I have Petplan for Beanz. It’s those unexpected vet visits; that usually run quite high, that it is perfect for. She’s only 14 months and considers our backyard her virtual snack bar so I am consistently patrolling to make sure there isn’t anything that will hurt her. I obviously missed SOMETHING! Thank you Petplan and be assured that I do refer you to everyone.
