If you like a frustrating and difficult experience
Website is NOT user friendly. Layout is terrible. Hard to find images. And you can no longer sync with Quickbooks or even download transactions to import into Quickbooks so all your work takes 3 times as long.

After 6 years with this bank
After 6 years with this bank, both my in laws (who’ve padded away) and my wife and I are finally away from this horrible financial situation. First, I’ll share about my in laws experiences: turned down twice for credit cards and once for a car loan. Why? Not his 800 credit score? Nope no reason given.
Then our experience-once in awhile we would have a positive visit. They show on their sign “advisors” so I asked. One man met with me one time and after that never return any phone calls or emails. Awesome.
Final experience-closing out both accounts. First after my father in law passed we were joint holders on the account and I showed POA. But, no, they ran me around. They said that they needed proof of my mother in laws death-something I’d taken onto the bank when she passed two years earlier and was told “it is not necessary.” Then I reminded the staff that an obituary is a matter of public record for one, and for another after a person’s death it showed on every credit bureau. But no-that wasn’t “how they worked.”
When I went to close our account, the fine gentleman (who was waiting on no other person nor on the phone) said “I’ll be with you in a few, pal.”
Pal? Are you joking?
So can the four of us recommend First Horizon? Absolutely not.

As far as the branch bank that I deal…
As far as the branch bank that I deal with, I have no real issues the personnel there are great
Is the manner that the corporate office treats the small customers all Corporate is interested in is their national ratings and investments they have no use for the everyday customer
I received a reply from First Horizon and they said to please call and we could discuss the review.
I tried calling the number they left in their reply and it takes me to a department that knows nothing about the review just like everything else with this company. No one knows what they’re doing.

I met with Rebecca King in the Marathon office, and she’s always extremely helpful with any banking issues I have. She still makes the bank a very personable atmosphere, which is rare these days

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Run away and take all your money. The branch manager Keith made a mistake and would not make it right.

Dear First Horizon Bank Management,
Dear First Horizon Bank Management,
My name is Lakeisha Herbert, and I have been a loyal customer of First Horizon Bank for approximately 11–12 years. During this time, I have maintained a personal account, a business account, and a church account. I have always handled my finances with integrity and have never had any issues or concerns regarding my banking history.
I am writing to formally express my concern and disappointment regarding my recent experience involving a check deposit made through the mobile app.
After depositing what I know to be a legitimate check, I contacted the bank to inquire about its status. During that call, my concern was escalated, and I was informed by a representative that the check was suspected to be fraudulent. This was both confusing and concerning, as I had been expecting this payment and had documentation to support its validity.
Following the bank’s guidance, I contacted the issuing company and attempted to connect them directly with the bank representative. Although initial attempts were unsuccessful due to timing, I went in person to the branch before closing. While there, the representative contacted the issuer directly. The company verified my identity and confirmed the legitimacy and purpose of the check, including specific details that would not be known to any unrelated or fraudulent party.
Despite this direct verification, I was informed that the matter would require further investigation. I fully understand and respect the bank’s responsibility to prevent fraud; however, I was deeply troubled that even after verification from the issuing company, the check continued to be treated as suspicious.
“Additionally, I was concerned that I was not granted even partial access to the funds. While I understand the check was being reviewed, I was not given an expected timeline for resolution. I also requested that the check be rejected if it could not be processed; however, that request was not accommodated.”
I must also respectfully express that the nature and extent of this situation has caused me to feel unfairly scrutinized. Given my long-standing relationship with the bank and my consistent account history, this experience felt inconsistent with the level of trust and respect I have previously received. I cannot ignore the concern that my treatment may have been influenced by bias, as I do not believe the same level of doubt would have been applied under different circumstances.
As a result of this experience, I have begun removing funds from this branch, as trust is essential in any banking relationship.
I am requesting the following:
* A clear written explanation of why the check continues to be held despite verification from the issuing company
* The specific steps being taken to resolve this matter
* A defined timeline for resolution
* A review of how this situation was handled, including whether proper procedures and customer care standards were followed
I value professionalism, fairness, and transparency. I am hopeful that this matter can be resolved promptly and that appropriate steps will be taken to ensure that no other customer experiences a similar situation.

“I am an African American customer, and despite the check being verified multiple times a representative of Indian descent, the manager Ms Beaumont, continued to call it suspicious. Being repeatedly dismissed even after confirmation raised serious concerns about unfair and potentially discriminatory treatment.”
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
Lakeisha Herbert

Changing my bank and closing this…
Changing my bank and closing this account as soon as I can open a new account. Charge exorbitant fees! They have every alert available through the app and website except low balance. This is so they can charge overdraft fees. They charge $35 for $2.15.

I opened an IRA CD with a 1-year…
I opened an IRA CD with a 1-year maturity.
At the maturity date, I did not receive a notice of maturity, and as such, did not go into the bank to renew the CD.
The rate went from 5.5 percent to 0.1 percent since I did not visit the bank to renew.
When I did get a call from the bank, I went in and the woman told me since they didn't hear from me, they renewed the CD at the lower rate.
So, the bank was able to renew my CD at 0.1 but not at the going rate of let's say 5.0.
That cost me around $1,000 in interest.
The bank used my money for their reserves to lend out more money, and make money, and pay me almost nothing in interest.
I asked if they would retroactively pay the interest since I didn't receive the notice. They said no.
I took my money and left, and will never go back.
STAY AWAY FROM FIRST HORIZON!!
