EyeglassesDepot.com started in 2007 as a new department of our retail designer eyeglasses and sunglasses business. Quickly we realized that our customers not only shop for new prescription lenses and new frames, they also ask us the popular question "Can this be fixed?". Tired of telling customers NO, we decided to explore the idea of repair rather then replacement. In late 2007 we remodeled the second floor of our office and hired the staff that today runs our laboratory. Our two lab technicians have combined over 17 years of expert experience in the field of optometry, eyewear repair and eyewear sales.

They fixed the glasses perfectly. I had them fixed by another company before and it wasn’t nearly as good of a job that EyeGlassesDepot did.

My wife broke her new raybands
My wife broke her new raybands. This place was quick and easy to deal with. They sent me a label, dropped it in the mail, a few days later, an email, we cost to repair. The week after I got them back. Simple, easy, affordable. Count me in for the next time.

Do not purchase...buyer beware
Do not purchase and research their complaints. Status F for BBB and not accredited. Terribly rude customer service. Contacted me at 10 pm on a Saturday night and then wanted to complain when I messaged at 7:30 am on a monday. Sam is full of excuses...stay away from this company. Also had same experience as another customer has posted ....I had not used my credit card in a long time.I used for eyeglass purchase and then after requesting refund my card was charged for a $500 e- gift card to marshalls and a $50 e-card to tjmaxx. Neither of them went through but seems quite convenient that it was within days and from same area. Update: continued harassment and demands from this company to remove my honest review and experience dealing with them. While I cannot say for sure it was the company or their employees that compromised my card info as stated before that is was only quite convenient. I still encourage you to not deal with the company due to their business tactics. I have reported the fraud to the federal trade commission for investigation. This company also takes orders under useyewear.com so stay clear of there as well.

We take feedback like this very seriously and would like to address several points raised in your review.
First, we want to be clear that we do not engage in any unauthorized charges or misuse of customer payment information. The claims regarding gift card transactions are concerning, and we strongly encourage you to continue working with your financial institution, as well as the appropriate authorities, to investigate this matter thoroughly. We are fully willing to cooperate with any legitimate investigation.
Regarding communication, our intent is always to provide timely support. We apologize if any outreach occurred at an inconvenient time or if our response did not meet your expectations. That was not our intention, and we regret any frustration caused.
We also want to clarify that we asked you to remove the review because we believe the allegations made are inaccurate. We followed all policies outlined on our website in handling your order and did not engage in any wrongdoing during our interaction. If any follow-up communication came across as inappropriate, we sincerely apologize—our goal is to resolve concerns, not escalate them.
We stand by our commitment to customer service and transparency. If you are open to it, we would appreciate the opportunity to review your case directly and work toward a resolution.

Against my better judgement I sent my…
Against my better judgement I sent my Maui Jim sunglasses to Eyeglass Depot for repair, they were missing the tiny screw that attaches the arm to the frame. I was quoted a $60 charge for the repair, which was outrageous, so I simply asked for them to return my glasses without repairing them. At that point I received a response indicating they wanted to negotiate a repair price, which felt “shady” in my mind (1st red flag), and simply asked them to return the glasses without repairing them and I agreed to pay the $13 return shipping fee. I was sent an invoice via email to pay the shipping fee and entered my credit card information (big mistake.)
Three days later I still had not received a tracking number, so I reached out to Eyeglass Depot to inquire and I got a rather rude response from Sam that I should be patient since he did not go to the post office every day to ship glasses, (2nd red flag.) It was then I started reading reviews posted from people not getting their glasses back, or getting a cheap knock off pair returned to them instead of the original pair and I got nervous.
I sent another message pleading with Sam to simply return my glasses, and he offered to fix them for $20, if I would write a positive review for Trust Pilot and Google. I indicated I did not feel comfortable writing a dishonest review, but had them repair the glasses in the hopes I would at least get them back. So I agreed to have them repaired but indicated I would not pay for the repair until I received the glasses back, and that’s when Sam mentioned that he would need an email authorization from me before charging my credit card a 2nd time (3rd red flag.)
All said and done, I was relieved to get my sunglasses back, repaired, but dirty, and asked Sam to send me an invoice so I could enter my credit card number again. NO INVOICE came, but a $20 charge appeared on my card, so he obviously had logged and stored my credit card information from the return shipping charge. (4th BIG red flag!)
And then two days later my credit card was fraudulently used for an $800+ online charge at Sam's Club, and for several other expensive gift cards. Fortunately I had alerted my credit card company to watch for fraudulent activity after Eyeglass Depot charged my credit card the 2nd time, so the fraudulent charges did not go thru.
Four hours after the fraudulent charges were attempted on my card, I received an email from Sam at Eyeglass Depot indicating that he was happy to help me with my recent order, and included a link for me to give him a $$$ tip if I wanted. Need I say more?

Hi Kathy,
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We take all customer concerns seriously and would like to clarify a few important points regarding your experience.
First, we want to confirm that your sunglasses were returned to you as requested, and ultimately repaired at the reduced price of $20 at your approval. As reflected in our email correspondence, you specifically requested an invoice after receiving your glasses, and the charge was processed only after your confirmation:

At no point do we store or misuse customer credit card information. All payments are processed securely through our authorized payment processor, and we do not have access to full card details.
Regarding your concern about fraudulent charges on your card, we want to be very clear: Eyeglass Depot has no involvement whatsoever in any unauthorized transactions. We strongly encourage customers to work with their card issuer in such situations, as fraud can unfortunately occur from many unrelated sources.
We also want to address the concern about reviews. We do not require or expect dishonest reviews from any customer. If there was any misunderstanding in communication, we sincerely regret that and will review internally to ensure clarity in the future.
We understand that delays in shipping updates and tone in communication may have caused frustration, and for that we apologize. We are a small operation and do our best to process shipments as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your business and are glad your sunglasses were ultimately returned and repaired. If you would like to discuss this further, we are happy to speak with you directly.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for sharing your experience. We truly appreciate your honest feedback.
I’m sorry to hear that there was some miscommunication at the beginning and that our response may have come across with any attitude when you first asked about your shipping order. That’s definitely not the experience we want our customers to have, and we’ll use your feedback to continue improving how we communicate.
I’m really glad to hear that everything got sorted out and that you were happy with the repair, the pricing, and that your Meta glasses came back working like new. It means a lot to us that you’d consider shopping with us again.
If you ever need anything in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’ll be happy to help.
Thanks again for your support!
