EyeglassesDepot.com started in 2007 as a new department of our retail designer eyeglasses and sunglasses business. Quickly we realized that our customers not only shop for new prescription lenses and new frames, they also ask us the popular question "Can this be fixed?". Tired of telling customers NO, we decided to explore the idea of repair rather then replacement. In late 2007 we remodeled the second floor of our office and hired the staff that today runs our laboratory. Our two lab technicians have combined over 17 years of expert experience in the field of optometry, eyewear repair and eyewear sales.

This place is a big scam I sent them my costa sunglasses to be repaired and they were trying to charge me $178.86 to repair them but I have only paid $215 dollars when I bought them new. I told them that I would like them to ship them back to me. And they were trying to charge me $99 dollars to ship them back to me. Because they say shipping wasn’t free. And they never sent them back to me. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.

Hi Jesus,
We’re sorry you were unhappy with the repair estimate and the return-shipping cost, but we want to clarify what actually occurred.
The $99.99 was the quoted cost for the requested repair work. Customers are never required to proceed with a repair if they decide the cost is not worthwhile. In your case, you chose not to proceed, and we respected that decision.
The $99 amount you referenced was not a shipping repair charge. It related to the cost repair work the eyewear, including shipping and handling. Shipping an item to our facility and subsequently returning it involves actual costs, and return shipping is not automatically free.
We also want to clarify that we did not simply refuse to return your sunglasses. The item remained subject to the applicable return-shipping/payment arrangements after you declined the repair.
Calling our company a “scam” is therefore misleading. We provided an estimate for the requested work, you declined the repair, and the applicable shipping and handling costs were communicated.
We understand that you may have decided the repair was not economically worthwhile, especially compared with what you originally paid for the sunglasses. However, the original purchase price of the sunglasses does not determine the cost of specialized repair work.
We are always willing to explain our estimates and policies to customers, but we believe it is important that reviews accurately reflect what occurred.

Sent a pair of Costa sunglasses for…
Sent a pair of Costa sunglasses for repair. Frame was glued and sanded. The cost was $147. I expected a new frame.
Response from EyeglassesdepotJul 15, 2026
The service you purchased was a frame repair, not a replacement frame from the manufacturer. We are an independent third-party repair company, and our goal is to restore the functionality of your existing eyewear whenever possible.
At no point was a new manufacturer frame included in the repair price. If a customer wants a brand-new replacement frame, that must be purchased separately through the manufacturer or another retailer.
We're sorry your expectations were different from the service provided. If you're unhappy with the repair, please contact us directly. We have already provided a prepaid return shipping label and are happy to inspect the item and work toward a resolution.
Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate the opportunity to address concerns directly.

Eyeglasses depot are extremely…
Eyeglasses depot are extremely untrustworthy, and when there’s a problem, nobody will contact you back. The only time they seem to respond quickly is when they want a payment.
I sent them a $500 pair of glasses that were only about a month old to be repaired. They emailed me confirming they received them and said they would send me a repair quote. After they sent the quote, I checked my paperwork from where I originally purchased the glasses and realized they were still under warranty. I informed Eyeglasses Depot about the warranty, and they told me I would only need to pay shipping to have the glasses returned to me. Fine, no problem.
On April 30th, they sent me an invoice for shipping. I paid it immediately, and they confirmed they received the payment. They also stated they would send me a tracking number once the package shipped.
Five days later, I still had not received a tracking number, so I contacted them. They finally sent one, but when I checked it, the USPS status only showed “pending.” I waited another three days and contacted them again. They claimed it sometimes takes a few days for tracking to update and assured me they had already dropped the package off.
I decided to call USPS myself, and they told me they could see a shipping label had been created, but USPS never actually received the package. I contacted Eyeglasses Depot again and explained what USPS told me. Their response was basically, “It’s out of our control, we shipped it.”
That response was unbelievably unprofessional. A reputable company would at least try to investigate what happened or help locate a customer’s property. Instead, they acted like it was no longer their problem and told me to take it up with USPS — even though USPS confirmed they never received the package in the first place.
Since May 7th, I have emailed, called, and texted every number listed on their website and have not received a single response from anyone. At this point, it seems obvious they lost my glasses and do not want to take responsibility for it. They have made absolutely no effort to help, replace the glasses, or make the situation right.
This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I strongly recommend avoiding Eyeglasses Depot and taking your business somewhere else. They clearly do not care about their customers or their property.

Hi Kelly,
We are sorry you were unhappy with your experience, but we believe your review leaves out important details regarding what actually occurred.
You sent your eyewear to us for evaluation and repair. We provided a repair estimate, but you subsequently advised us that you believed the eyewear was still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty and chose not to proceed with the repair. You then requested that the eyewear be returned.
As you stated in your review, you paid the return-shipping charge on April 30. We provided you with tracking information for the shipment. The fact that USPS tracking initially showed “Pending” or “Label Created” does not establish that we lost your eyewear. USPS does not always provide an acceptance scan immediately, and tracking information can remain unchanged until the package is processed at a USPS facility.
We also want to be clear that we had no reason to keep or intentionally withhold your eyewear. The allegation that we simply “lost” your $500 glasses and refused to take responsibility is not an accurate representation of our position or our handling of your order.
We understand how frustrating it can be when tracking information does not update, particularly when valuable eyewear is involved. However, once an item has been turned over for shipment, the physical transportation and scanning of the package are handled by the carrier.
We take customer property seriously and regret that you were dissatisfied with the communication surrounding this shipment. However, we believe prospective customers should have the complete context: we evaluated the eyewear, provided a repair estimate, honored your decision not to proceed, accepted your payment for the requested return shipping, and provided tracking information for the return shipment.
