Elavon requires highly confidential information be sent using normal email only. They consider it safe to send complete banking information and SSN or TIN information over normal email. They will not accept any other form of communication for this information including extra encryption by gmail (we tried but would not work).

Had Evalon for 20+years, fees were high, so we expected a high standard of service, and communication sometimes poor. Had an issue with a charge dispute and they didn't back us or return discussion till after I connected them. It's obvious that they are not merchant friendly. DNC

I have been a customer since 2007. I have been trying to update my deposit account for over 5 months, and have submitted the account change form over 10 times now. The response I get by email is something like "Sections 2,8,9 missing or incomplete information" etc, with no real description of what's incorrect or missing. When you call Support for assistance, they tell you that the account change is another department and there's no way to contact them except email. Support doesn't no why the form was rejected, so they guess and tell you to resubmit the forms. Right now I'm told there is an error in Section 8, which is the old and new account info. It is correct and I sent copies of checks along with the request to prove it. Still I'm told something is "missing or incorrect". The worst customer experience ever and a huge waste of time.

They held my payments and then hassled my client about his payment. Then they said that I did not have a legitimate business, when I set up my business account through US Bank. They refused to process my payment of $1,137. Then my case worker claimed that her phone didn't work and she couldn't help me over the phone. Somehow she was still able to call and hassle my client with multiple voicemails. I also paid for my card reader twice, which they refused to reimburse me. Whatever you do, do not get involved with this horrible company. Do yourself a favor and use something like Square instead.

Michael with customer service was outstanding. He helped me with a very stressful situation and he did not give up until we got it solved.

This company lies. I have been promised a refund and received emails detailing the exact amount. They returned less than half and with no further details said they have completed the return. I assume you have to do everything four to five times with this company as it took several times to cancel. I have email confirmation of cancellation in OCT and they are still taking $132 every month. More than just plain stupid these guys are grifters.

Not worth your time. I’m a small business owner and closed my account after realizing I no longer needed their services. Typically my charge was $5 for renting the device, when I closed my account I noticed a $30 fee applied. I called to ask what the difference was and they said it was the new price increase. I was never notified. Not only that, I would be getting one more monthly charge since I closed my account after their billing cycle. Representative argued with me and said she could wait to see if a refund would be applied. Worst customer service.
