As a sales representative with Lowes and a customer of Ego (unfortunately), I am disappointed to report my utter dissatisfaction with the company. I own 4 Ego power tools. While they are excellent tools in terms of ease of use and overall maintenance. They are completely unreliable. Of the 4 tools i Own 2 of the tools have broken. I have only owned the tools for less than two years and use them in a casual residential setting. Egos' 5-year warranty claim on its tools is a scam. The way they advertise it makes it seem like everything on the tool is covered while in fact it only covers the minimalist amount of damage. In addition to my 4 tools, two of them have batteries that died in less than a year, which they claim is not a manufacturer defect. So they won't honor their own warranty. From a Sqles perspective, I notice a lot of their products are returned for reliability issues. I shall not be recommending Ego to any of my customers in the future. I feel that Ego does not deliver on its products at such an expensive price point. I shall be pushing other industry Alternatives such as Dewalt. My experience has left a sour taste when it comes to Ego.

I'VE HAD THE SP 21" MOWER AND BATTERY >4.5 YEARS...NO POBLEM. THEN SP SPEED CONTOL FAILED ANS MACHINE RAN AT FU LL SPEED ONLY. I COULD NOT USE. AFTER FINDING AUTHORIZED REPAIR FACILITY I WAS TOLD NOT ACCEPTING MORE EQUIPMENT BECAUSE THEY WERE FULL---CALLED BACK THE NEXT WEEK; CALLED WEEK LATER STILL FULL. THIS SHOP IS ABOUT IS ABOUT A 35-40" DRIVE FOR ME. I ONLY HAD ABOUT 2 MONTHS WARRANTY REMAINING ON MY MACHINE. DISCOURAGED I CALLED CUSTOMER CARE AND TO SHORTEN A LONG STORY THEY DID SOME CHECKING AND ULTIMATELY SAID WOULD SEND NE A NEW MOWER IF IN WANTED; AFTER THE SHOCK WORE OFF I SAID GREAT AND THE NEW MOWER ARRIVED WITHIN ABOUT 10 DAYS. NEVER HAD SUCH GREAT SERVICE IN MY MANY YEARS OF USING VARIOUS COMPANY'S CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPPRT SERVICES. I AM A RETURNING CUSTOMER AND WILL REMAIN A PROMOTER OF THEIR PRODUCTS AND CUSTOMER SERVICES.

I have had to contact them twice about a failed battery, I purchased a 650.00 mower and only used it 3 times! I waited for approximately 30 minutes each time before giving up and using the callback feature, while someone did call back within a half hour both times, the representatives were useless. I had all of the warranty information, serial numbers etc. etc. and the product with me. I tried to troubleshoot it over the phone, they had me reset the battery and put it back on the charger, still only charged to about 75% when the charger stopped. I was then told to drain the battery entirely the next time I mowed my lawn, that wasn’t hard because this time the battery lasted maybe 20 minutes. I then put it on the charger only to have the same result. The second time I was asked a ridiculous amount of questions (such as did you reset, even though they could see the case number). They wanted to know the mower height, how long my grass was before cutting, when did the mower stop, did I try charging after mowing, how do I store it, how long did it take to charge etc etc. This went on forever. I only own battery powered tools and they all work, I know how to store them and use them properly. Thank god I have one gas powered tool left, a backup gas lawnmower because they seem to have psychic powers that indicate there is nothing wrong with my battery. They supposedly submitted a request for replacement but it needs to be approved by management? Rep was about to hang up and I said do I get some sort of confirmation about this? Said I would receive an email if my request was granted and then a callback if it wasn’t. It’s been days, still waiting for that email or call. Only have another email with another case number. They just want you to get frustrated and give up. This is not acceptable for a product with such a high price point. I’m done with Ego, love my old gas powered hundred dollar push mower, though.

START with useless. Battery under warranty. emails, messages, for return call. Management envoled FINALY requesting photos of Battery and equipment, all provided!! 6 phone calls, several messages,several emails. Its only been a month. Left phone number,email address, home address. Worst customer service EVERY. !!

I jumped on Ego tools in 2018, spent close to $2k CAD and used them commercially. Had two mowers, Ego was enough for maintenance cut, but useless on overgrown properties where it would stall continuously. Ego 7.5Ah battery lasted 30-45min, while gas mower could go for 1.5hr per refuel. After first season I got rid of mower and kept only trimmer and blower. First set lasted 3yrs, now I am on second set of Ego trimmer/blower and went through 2 bump heads on each trimmer. Trimmer shaft consists of two halves held together by two screws and one of these screws constantly breaks, original Ego screw lasted a season, new replacement generic steel screw lasts a day or two. Made wooden bracket that releases most of the pressure off the screws and now that cursed screw lasts a month. Ego batteries have no indication, tool just shuts down in middle of work. Also frequently happens that when I pick up batteries from charger indicating full charge they in fact did not charge at all, and tool would shut down after few seconds. Frustrating. Now I have the process of leaving charged batteries to cool down for few minutes and reinserting them into charger second time in case they did not charge the first time. Also had a charger freeze on fully charged indicator several times, that would stay even if battery is removed and charger stopped working completely. Software bug. Only solution is to unplug, wait and plug back. Quality tools should not require any of this nonsense. Ego positions itself as premium brand and charges premium price, but quality is similar to established non-premium tool brands like Ryobi, Sun Joe or Yardworks. I would rate established premium tool brands like Stihl, Dewalt or Makita higher than Ego. Also non-premium brands have cheaper batteries per kWh and all established brands have high selection of after-market batteries and spare parts, while Ego is closed world, nobody makes aftermarket nothing for Ego. There is no higher level of comfort, nor higher performance or productivity, nor less maintenance with Ego than non-premium brands, Ego tools don't last longer. I would like to go full electric from next season including mower, but switch completely out of Ego. Good bye Ego.

ego product are the best for my needs. Own a lawn mower and a snowblower. Best product on the market

EĜO batteries are garbage. Save yourself some headaches, do not buy EGO products! The equipment may work with better batteries but the batteries they come with are terrible. They overheat quickly and fail often. EGO customer service will do nothing for you, if you can even get through. I Waited over 2 hours on hold before speaking with a person. The company could care less that the equipment doesn't work. EGO'S suggestion was to buy another EGO battery for $350.

WAITING for parts to ship for 6 months. 2 bolts needed for blades. ALWAYS an excuse! This company will disappear in a few years along with electric cars.
