Stay away from DR Horton homes they…
Stay away from DR Horton homes they throw them together too fast they have a lot of flaws and the worst part is their warranty they tell you they will come back in a year and fix any defects to sue the home settling like nail pops etc well when they come back they say the nail ops aren’t big enough how big does a nail pop need to be?? When we get really heavy rain water leaks in at the top of one window and they come out and say it is condensation how does condensation run like running water?? They don’t want to stand behind there warranty!! DR Horton sucks go buy another home!

Beware!! Do not use DR Horton.
We moved into our brand new, freshly built DR Horton home 3 months ago. During the final walk through, my fiancé and I were still flagging things that needed to be fixed by the builder -- cracked molding, molding separating from the wall, chipped cabinets, etc. -- and they claimed that they would fix it. 3 months later, we have had our door knobs constantly falling off, our doors won't shut, the molding on the stairs is getting worse (we were told the house is settling), we never got our cabinets that were promised, and our bathtub has a giant crack running through it. I reached out about the bathtub and they said that it's not covered under the warranty and sent me some maintenance instructions to do it myself. We are going to have to replace our tub in our brand new house. Not only are we having problems, our neighbor's front door completely fell off, another's brand new dryer that they installed doesn't work, and that's only the things that I have been told about. When our back door knob fell off and we called about it (I know we could fix it, I was just mad at the volume of times we had had to fix it in such a short time), the builders were furious at us for calling, did not want to show up to do anything about it, and complained when we finally convinced them to show up. I am new to home buying, so maybe this is standard treatment and expectations, but it seems ridiculous to me that we will have to buy a new bathtub 3 months into a brand new house and have all of these problems.

purchased my home in 2020 let me say…DR Horton buyers beware
purchased my home in 2020 let me say the selling process was smooth.outside lookin in the homes are beautiful I love my floor plan it's perfect for my family. Families looking to buy a house built from the ground up is so exciting you can loose yourself in the process like I did I didn't check the reviews on DR Horton and boy I wish I did. I see other ppl complaining about the cheap material being used well that's not one of my issues yet. The warranty department is horrible man oh man as soon as your one year inspection is done you are screwed in more ways than one. If they fall short on filling an obligation and you don't catch it you are up the creek without a paddle. Now the kicker the craftsmanship on my has fallen short the bathroom vent on the exterior wall was not properly sealed which means every time it rains water comes in and the water was sitting in between the exterior wall and the interior wall so now guess what I have mold. What do DR Horton do about it absolutely nothing refuse to come out and seal it because guess what I'm passed my one year warranty. I wasn't asking for money I'm out for finding the issue I was asking to repair what was not done in the first place. Not going to continue with the out come because I wrote enough. Buyers beware what your getting into with buying homes from DR Horton!!

Drainage Problem
Purchase a home from D.R, Horton April of 2023 before closing I had concerns after a heavy rain there was so much water still in the backyard. I stated to my realtor that I wasn't going to close until the drainage problem was fixed.
A few days later I was contacted by a D. R, Horton staff stating that they would have the landscapers come back out to the property and fix the problem. Landscapers came out dug a trench on a hill that's in my backyard. Once the landscapers completed the job, I was told by 2 of D.R. Horton staff that was out on the property when the landscapers were completing the project that if I should have any more problems, they would see what else could be done so my yard want have the drainage problem. I also have an email with the same staff stating that D. R. Horton will fix the problem if it should happen again.
Moving forward, I reached out to D.R. Horton on March 6, 2024, with pictures letting D.R. Horton know I'm still having problems. Picture were sent along with my emails; I also forward all the messages that I had with the staff in March of 2023 assuring me if the problem happen again D.R. Horton will come back out to see what else could be done to fix the drainage problem.
After sending emailing all correspondence to Ms. XXXXX communication on stop. Since communication stopped. I called Customer Care in Arlington Texas located at the corporate office. This was like a slap in the face. The gentleman did not ask what community nor my address or phone number, He stated that the reason that I probably haven't received a phone call back was a many of the staff may be on Spring Break. Ms. XXXXX finally communicated on March 14 via email at 2:30 in the morning stating that they’re working researching and will get back to me. It’s now March 21, 2024, no communication. When I was purchasing my home, it really seemed like they care about their customers. I'm guessing after signing its money in their pocket on to the next person. At this point D. R. Horton doesn't deserve 1 star, I will not refer anyone to D. R Horton.

My husband and I moved to Tennessee 11…
My husband and I moved to Tennessee 11 months ago and had to look for a house to purchase. We had a great realtor who took us through everything. Once we choose a home in Somerville , TN, the builder, Uncle Rob, took us step by step and showed us EVERYTHING about the house. He gave us a chance to ask questions and answered everything to a tee! (I still have the video's to refer to!)
Uncle Rob was professional and very understanding. Rob made SURE we understood that if there was a problem to submit the complaint paperwork asap!
So far our house has been wonderful and our neighborhood is awesome!
Uncle Rob even , still, lets us call if we have a question. Many builders will blow ya off after you purchase but not Uncle Rob..... D R Horton is lucky to have him!!!

D.R. Horton Saguaro Bloom Mesquite Village
***READ***
I purchased a brand new D. R. Horton home at Saguaro Bloom Mesquite Village in Marana, AZ in 2019. These are the following issues I've had so far.
1. They didn't properly bolt down the AC motor in attic and it snapped and blew the motor which needed to be replaced within 1 month of owning.
2. Cracked driveway slab 3 times which they tried fixing and it's still cracked and discolored from rest of the slab.
3. Replaced all rain gutters because improperly installed and angled.
4. Cracks to outside stucco several feet long which they tried fixing a few times and still cracked.
5. Multiple cracks to interior walls and ceilings.
6. Dysfunctional water drainage when it rains. They placed drainage underground outback and it changed nothing.
7. Cracked tiles in kitchen and bathroom which they replaced twice and yet they continue to crack.
8. Repainted my house because of all the patch jobs they made to stucco.
***A law firm is now filing a class action lawsuit against D. R. Horton because the soil these homes were built on was not properly excavated or leveled and now whenever it rains, the soil soaks up the water like a sponge and it shift the entire foundation slab. This shifting is lifting the floors and ceiling, and load bearing walls causing severe compromise to the entire integrity of the foundation. Eventually, the walls and ceilings will come crashing down. I have informed D. R. Horton multiple times and they refuse to come out to assess or fix issues. I'm hoping the law firm will bankrupt D. R. Horton because he does NOT know how to build homes. The local and state agencies here in Marana, AZ should also be sued because there is absolutely no oversight when it comes to building homes here.***

It is not as much about what happens as it is what can be done about it!
I bought a new home from DR Horton almost 2 years ago and decided to do so instead of an older one that I was looking at. My husband and I thought in buying a new home, we wouldn't have any major problems for a few years anyway. Well, it didn't turn out that way.
We ended up having one problem after another, which caused us to have to move out of our home more than once to fix, repair and restore it.
As disruptive and upsetting as this all was to contend with, DR Horton did everything possible to take care of us and our home, while they diligently and carefully repaired and corrected anything that was not exactly right with the house. Their supervisor, Jennifer took all these problems personally and worked with us to build the confidence we needed to Know that our home would not just be fixed, but better than before.
I certainly didn't like having the problems, but I am more than happy to be back in the home I love and the problems are behind me.
There can always be problems in life. It is what we do about them that really counts.
DR Horton did the right thing and would not stop until everything was done just that way!
