I stopped by the Rivertown Crossings Grandville location to buy some shoes for my daughter. I was overwhelmed by the lack of helpful staff. We went to the shoe department and hunted down someone to help. The girl was not friendly, in fact none of the staff we interacted with was friendly. She dropped the shoes off that we requested and left without a word, not waiting to see if the shoe worked, if we needed another size and she did not check back with us after that. We decided to leave and find a store that could provide better service and some knowledge of their products as well as a polite, respectful and friendly demeanor. We will not be returning to this Sporting Goods.

I Purchased a basketball goal. Missing hardware they give you the run around. Do not buy from them nasty costomer service

I got 2 items out of 6. I had to postpone my hiking trip to wait for 4 deliveries which the store trusted to FedEx, a far more unreliable company. The first customer service person was very hard to understand and talked too fast. Second person that he passed the buck off to hung up on me rudely after I poured my guts out trying relay my predicament. The third customer service was overqualified for this job and should find another. She really tried to help me and assist. Also I was charged for next day express delivery which they did not provide. In the end, the Sporting Goods Company ruined my hiking trip and next time I will go to Bass Pro Shops for my hiking needs.

Amazing sales and great prices! They have a ton of variety to choose from, especially gear for sports or leisure activities. Their customer support staff are very friendly and helpful. I will be back!

This chain company need to work on their shipping and handling with proper care for their items to deliver in good quality condition! Specifically on gym equipment like weights. I ordered 3-4 items online and I've noticed their handling is terrible. First item i ordered was a 35lb fitness gear plate. Thankfully the plate wasn't damaged or cracked but the package it was in was in a small messy thin box with multiple tears and openings. The second and third item I ordered were a pair of 35lb kettlebells, but as my items were delivered, the box was very messy/wrecked and I noticed only one kettlebell with scratches and scrapes around the coating. I called and apparently during shipping, my other bell was damaged otw and was returned back. I was refunded half of money thankfully but I had to repurchase it again with a discount given to me. I decided to order it again which is technically by 4th item since they broke my previous order, and as they delivered my 2nd bell, it was damaged again with scrapes and scratches! Worse of all it was not put in a package and I received just the bell itself with a plastic restraint. Im not happy with how they handle shipping their products with Fedex and they need to do better!!! I recommend staying away from buying their equipment on weights online and maybe in store instead or other brands as they could have terrible shipping and handling leading to damage quality of their products just like what happen to mine.

I ordered my son a Jordan outfit and had it shipped. Well the package came today and I slowed him to open the package since it was for him. Well inside the package was no shipping label or anything what so ever about My order. Then he pulls out some women’s Nike socks. Clearly the Jordan outfit is way more expensive. I called customer service to see if I could go To my local store good to fix this issue and I was informed I couldn’t do that. And the guy was really no big help other than he did verify that I order the Jordan outfit and just that. I was getting very frustrated at this point and he noticed that. He finally told me he would send me the outfit that I ordered and overnight it. But this is ridiculous. Socks vs outfit is a huge difference

I ordered a set of kettlebells from DSG a week prior to leaving this review. They were supposed to arrive on a Monday, yet by Wednesday morning they still hadn’t arrived. After viewing the tracking info, I discovered my equipment had made a brief stop in my hometown before heading to three other states. Contacting Support yielded only an apology and a refund. The kettlebells are out of stock, they said, so I’m out of luck. I’m glad to have my money back, but I lost a week’s time and have no kettlebells. DSG, this is why Amazon is crushing you (and everyone else). I should have gone there first.

I ordered a kayak, and tried to change the shipping address, but had a terrible time. The first person I spoke to (2 weeks before item shipped), told me that they couldn't do anything, and to call FedEx once the item shipped. Fast forward to 2 weeks later, I tried calling FedEx and the tracking number was the wrong number of digits, and the hyperlink led nowhere. I chatted with a second customer service rep, who again told me to call FedEx. I tried again, obviously it didn't work. Finally, I asked a 3rd rep and they said that Pilot Freight was actually shipping the kayak. I asked how I could change the delivery address, and they said that they had to "take it up the line" and it would take 2 days. Then they said to call in (I was using the chat service). I called in and spoke to the 4th customer service rep who told me to call the shipping company. I said that I had been given conflicting info, and they finally gave me the right shipping info, tracking no, and phone number. I am currently on hold with the shipping company. It's been a HUGE waste of time. No wonder Amazon out-competes bumbling stores like this. Don't bother selling thing online if you can't do simple things like address changes, or even give accurate shipping information. Extremely frustrating. I will not be ordering from them again.
