I have had the unfortunate luck to have dealt with this company several times because my friends keep getting married and forcing their bridesmaids to buy David's Bridal dresses. The first wedding the bride herself purchased a David's Bridal wedding dress. The dress's zipper broke on the morning of the wedding 15 minutes before she was supposed to go down the aisle in a strapless heavy gown. We had to sew her into the dress. This is a normal example of the quality of their garments. Fabric is poor and zippers are poorer. Most recently I was made to buy a bridesmaid dress from this company. I called the local retail location only to be told that they did not have any appointments available for me to come try on this dress. I had to order it online. The garment arrived and it is much lower quality than pictured. It also had a weird sizing issue and didn't fit. I have been trying for 3 days to return the item but cannot get anyone to answer the phone or respond to an email. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE.

I recently visited the london Stratford…
I recently visited the london Stratford store and was looked after by the lovely Mitzi. She listen to everything I asked for and also recommended a couple dresses that I would have not chosen myself. She was absolutely fantastic. I found my dream dress. She completely glammed me up and I felt amazing She didn't rush us at all and the whole experience was amazing! If anyone wanted to book there ask for Mitzi!
Thank you so much Mitzi! Looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks!

loved my experience
Went for my first Wedding dress shopped at the watford store with Leota.
She was brilliant and so were all of the ladies in there.
Truly thought I found the one, and was told that they do a deposit scheme prior to my appointment. But when I asked about it they were all talking code, and found out it was 25% and balance paid by 90 days which wasn’t suitable for me.
Will possibly be back for bridesmaids dresses

I have had so many problems with this company! I was so excited to go and try dresses on, and David's bridal was at the top of my list. We began looking at dresses as we waited for our stylist. At first, everything was great and our stylist took note of my personal style and what I liked and disliked. I tried a few on and was told that I was a size 16, which was way off as I later found out. I pointed it out, but she assured me that she was correct. At this time, the shop got really busy so our stylist asks to step away. Sure, no problem we understand that we are not the only ones there. We continued looking at dresses when we were approached by a manager who didn't greet us, instead she attacked us asking where the stylist was. We explain that we were just looking and would notify our stylist if we needed help. The manager said that "I couldn't try on anymore dresses and that I would need to come back." I already had a room with two dresses saved for me, but she didn't care. She said that "we were unable to look without a systlist and that we need to make an appointment to come back." I was almost in tears at this point, because she was so rude and all we were doing was looking! I just wanted to leave but I loved one of the dresses I tried on. I asked to try it on one more time, as I was sure it was the one I wanted and they could alter it, I was told. The manager told me that "I couldn't try it on and that I need to either buy it or come back another day." I didn't want to risk losing it so I bought it. It wasn't a pleasant experience, but I was just glad we found a dress. I went back a week later to get a corset to wear under the dress, and I was sized wrong again! I was put into a corset three times too small and the stylist told me that "it is supposed to fit like that!" I'm no expert, but when you look like a busted can of biscuits, it isn't the right size! She assured me that "It would look better when the dress is altered and laying flat against the corset." I was trying to be modest for my wedding day, not have my breasts popping out of the dress! I went somewhere else, as I felt uncomfortable with the fit. That is when I was informed that the size they put me in and said was right, was way too small!! It came time to do alterations and there was no way was I going back to that location. I made an appointment across town in Houston and went to another location hoping for a better experience. I got to the alterations department and I am informed that the dress was way too big on me! They said I was around a size 12!! The alterations department had me hopeful, talking about everything they could do to make it better. The alterations ended up costing me $600! I thought it was absolutely ridiculous, but they are the experts! I went in a few times to try it, as it had to be hemmed, sash added, and brought in obviously, since it's too big. Also, straps added for support. I went in to pick the dress up and I tell them this at the front desk, they put me in a room and I thought it was odd, since the previous times we were taken straight back to alterations. I assumed it was different since I was picking it up. The stylist came back and informs me that "she cannot find my dress." I started panicking at this time. She came back, and asks if its under any other name, I tell her no. She left and came back again and says "it isn't back there!" I am upset and asked why they didn't have it, I had an appointment and was having it altered. She apologized and said "oh sorry you're in the wrong place" and walks us back to alterations. I finally get the dress and there were stains on it, one strap was 1/2 inch smaller than the other and the straps had a hole in the material! The strap also had mesh showing with no jewels, it looked incomplete. I was livid that I spent $600 to be given trash! I pointed out everything, and they made me feel like I was just upset over nothing! They argued with me about the straps, said they were the same. One was too tight on my shoulder and the other was falling off! They finally measured and told me that "yes, there is a difference," but that it can be fixed. As far as the strap goes, they could add some jewels over the mesh strap to hide the hole. I am also told that the mesh showing is "how the strap comes, and most brides don't have a problem with it!" I have to walk away at this point, because I am in shock that she just told me this! I am about to have a panic attack, I can't hold back tears, and I'm angry. My maid of honor steps in and tells the seamstress that the quality of the work is unacceptable and not worth $600. Of course, she argues with my maid of honor saying that "they can assure us that it is quality work!" The work shows for itself in my opinion. We were told to come back in an hour and they would have everything fixed. Came back and at this point I'm emotionally and physically drained! My appointment was at 12, it was going on 5 o'clock! The dress was given back to me and it was cleaner and the straps are the same now. I hurry up put it on and then changed to leave. I should have inspected it more, but I was tired and stressed. I was relieved they fixed some of the issues, but still livid that I paid $600 for such terrible quality work. I got the dress home, and the straps were not sewed where they were supposed to be, they look crooked in the back and some of the jewels were falling off! I broke down at this point, not knowing what to do. At the same time, my package that I ordered from David's bridal's website came in, so I was excited and it distracted me from the whole dress ordeal. I ordered toasting flutes and a cake and knife serving set. I opened the box and the flutes were fine, but the knife set had a misspelled word on It! I was seeing red and ready to call that company and yell at them. It should have said my name and my husbands to be. Instead it said my name nand his name!!!! Nand????? Who is working at this company and why aren't they checking stuff before it goes out?? Of course, they are closed so all I can do is email them. Monday comes and I called and wait for what feels like forever on hold, there were 10 callers ahead of me.. I finally get through and all they said is "oh, I'm sorry for that," they need pictures and then once received they can send it to whoever made them and have a new set to me. I asked if they would be here in time for my wedding, and all she said is "I will note your wedding date on the email I send." So, there is no guarantee that I will even get it in time!! I still haven't heard back about my dress, I called and called and emailed continuously since the day I picked the dress up, and no response or single call back. So, I made the dreaded decision to buy another dress. I didn't know what to do and I wasn't taking it back because they don't know what they were doing and the manager informed me that "alterations are elective, so once altered they don't do returns exchanges or anything." By this time I cannot even look at the dress without crying. I can't wear it and I dont even feel the same way about it because of all the issues! All I can think about is how unhappy this dress is going to make me on one of the most important days of my life. Fast forward and I get the New toasting set and it's correct and in time for the wedding, one thing out of many fixed! Today, David's bridal called me back in regards to the angry email I sent weeks ago about my ruined dress. All they said is I'm sorry over and over again! I explained that they have terrible customer service and that I spent a lot of money and ended up having to buy another dress. Again, all she said is "I'm sorry." I am so angry because how could they take such a special day and ruin it and not care! I don't have the money to buy a dress again and have it altered, but I am left with no choice. All she kept saying is "I'm sorry" and to bring it back to the store so they can alter it. Why in the world would I ever step foot into a David's bridal ever again? I explained that I live across town and I can't just take it up there, as I had to take off work for the other times I went. All she can say is "I'm sorry" and to bring it in so they can fix the alteration issues. I told her once again that I live across town and don't have the time or gas to be driving back and forth. Again, she said "I'm sorry." Her last words were "I'm sorry I bothered you today." I understand that there is probably very little she could do, but to act as though my experience doesn't matter, is complete disrespect! I gave them a chance to fix it many times, and then they gave it to me dirty and ripped!! I will make sure everyone that I share my experience with as many people that will listen. I came to a conclusion, they are sorry! They are a sorry company that does not care about people at all and they shouldn't be in business!! I don't think this company realizes that they are ruining what should be positive experiences. I have accepted that all I can do is cut my loses at this point. My hope is that I can save brides from the hell I am still going through with them! Even if it's just one person.

BUYER BEWARE
BUYER BEWARE. I recently bought online in the USA a prom dress for my daughter from David's Bridal.com. In trying to complete the purchase I tried to enter a promo-discount code only to finally figure out after struggling with it that the "promo-discount" was already figured into the purchase price. Following the receipt of the dress within 5 days of order, my daughter tries it on, and it is too big. So, we proceed to return it. FIRST CAVEAT, all returns need to be made within 14 days of receipt and can NOT be returned to a store site if one is located near you. This is not obvious when ordering, but it is stated in the Order Info sheet included in the box. SECOND CAVEAT, "final sales" are not indicated clearly, or at all! In trying to return the dress we were not able to pull up the dress on-line for a return label, and in calling to speak to a personal representative, they say, "oh, yes, this was a final sale." I was shocked. This was NOT indicated online anywhere, or even on the order slip that came with the dress. Neither my daughter nor I saw any "final sale" description. If we had, we would have never ordered such a tricky item if we thought it could not be returned. BUT, at this moment, we are sitting with a brand new dress that no-one can wear, and we can't return, and are out over $250.00. I am waiting for a call back from a supervisor, but I am not hopeful. Best advice to you, order from Lulus online. Excellent selection, price, super easy to purchase and return if necessary. Never a bad experience there. We have learned our lesson.

Invoking my rights under UK law to a refund
Open letter to Elio Auletta - Head of David's Bridal UK
Dear Mr Auletta
I am writing to you directly because I have been unable to get the service and help I want from your staff members at David's Bridal.
On January 18th 2018 I purchased a wedding dress from David's Bridal. Two things happened at that point:
A: I was informed that my dress would arrive LATEST beginning of April (I have 2 witnesses who can testify to this).
B: I was NOT TOLD that the dress was NON REFUNDABLE.
Some time passed and as I had no news about my dress' delivery date I called the David's Bridal store and spoke to a store manager who reassured me that my dress would arrive in March.
Mid February I called again, and this time I received a different answer. My dress was only going to arrive on the 14th of May. This is too late for me as I'm abroad from the 11th of April and my wedding is also abroad. Had I known the dress would arrive then, I would NEVER have bought it.
Once I found out the dress would arrive too late, I asked for a refund and was told that is not possible.
Please understand obtaining this information has been very difficult. I have spoken to a number of your staff who have misled me with different statements. At one point I was told my dress would be expedited and coming with the next shipment. I called when the shipment arrived and was told the dress had not come. After having called many more times, I finally got to talk to an employee who had some answers:
- the dress was not ready so it could not be expedited faster
- there were no other available dresses in my size in stock in the US
- there were no sample dresses in my size available in the US
- There is no possibility for the dress to arrive by the time agreed upon during purchase.
Since then I have been trying to talk to one of your store managers every day. When I mentioned I wanted a refund I was told the manager would email Davids Bridal in America for answers. But I have been told that 4 times already and no answers ever come.
I can't begin to express how frustrating the Davids Bridal customer service is. So many times I have been told someone will call me back, but hardly ever do. Meanwhile I keep waiting for answers. But now I am done waiting and given that my dress has not even been made yet, I want a refund.
As an American company operating on British soil, Davids Bridal is bound by British law and particularly by the clauses of the Consumers Rights Act of 2015. I hereby invoke my rights.
- Section 20 of the CRA 2015 states my right to a refund when I reject my contract with you. Section 20 7(a) states that by law "the trader has a duty to give the consumer a refund". . Please also see Section 20 (9) and (10) "The consumer’s entitlement to receive a refund works as follows. (10)To the extent that the consumer paid money under the contract, the consumer is entitled to receive back the same amount of money".
- I claim my rights to end my contract with you because the goods I bought were not delivered on time. Section 28 (2) Unless the trader and the consumer have agreed otherwise, the contract is to be treated as including a term that the trader must deliver the goods to the consumer. (4) In this section—(a)an “agreed” time or period means a time or period agreed by the trader and the consumer for delivery of the goods; (in this case beginning of April) (6) If the circumstances are that—(a)the trader has refused to deliver the goods, (b)delivery of the goods at the agreed time or within the agreed period is essential taking into account all the relevant circumstances at the time the contract was entered into, or
(c) the consumer told the trader before the contract was entered into that delivery in accordance with subsection (3), or at the agreed time or within the agreed period, was essential, then the consumer may treat the contract as at an end.
As the head of Davids Bridal UK, among the many busy tasks you must do each day, could you please organize for me to get a refund on my dress. If this can't be done, I am willing to raise a complaint through my local ombudsman.
Please let me know if I can assist you with further information.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Kind regards
TA

So far
So far, so good. We have received the veil, two flower girl dresses and a wedding dress they were able to rush to us by the new wedding date!
WE were very skeptical of the place just because bigger/Chain doesn't always instill great customer service. My daughter was just heartbroken because the original dress she fell in love with (at a different store) had told her they could order the dress she fell in love with and then told her it had been discontinued and she could not order it. We left the other store with her in tears. After a short talk and passing by Davids I stopped JUST INCASE something caught her eye. I told her to enter with an open mind. She found THE dress! She tried on the Vera Wang Gown and it was practically made for her! We ordered it and found a veil that just made the dress pop even more. We received the veil within a week of ordering it. I was not pleased when we first opened it, it was obviously a store display. We checked it over very carefully and made sure everything was perfect. I called Davids and they offered a discount for the balled up and stuff in bag we received. They also told us to bring it in before the wedding and it will be steamed and cleaned for the shipping persons misstep. They handled it quickly, went above and beyond to make it right. We were very pleased.
After my daughter and her fiancé decided to move the date up. We called to see if we could have the dress rushed to us for the new date. The store was more than accommodating. The dress will be here two months earlier than originally projected. I will update this after we receive the dress.
So happy this store was able to make her so happy after the other shop was so upsetting.

I have given them three chances
I have given them three chances. Regarding over charge and delivery. The staff have told me on 3 occasions: “yes we’ll investigate and call you back on monday”. This was said to me twice on the phone and once in store. I never received a call. Empty promises.
I confirmed my delivery address in store and over the phone twice. They STILL used my credit card address instead of my residential address. My dress has been in the UK since January, it’s March and they still can’t get their act together.
When my dress didn’t arrive and I heard nothing, I spent an hour travelling to their store to pick up the dress. They said it was at a warehouse in a holding area due to inability to deliver. Last Sunday I asked them to bring it back to the shop and I’ll once again make the hour long trip to pick it up.
I got a notification that UPS once again made a fail attempt to deliver this week. I thought the instructions were fairly simple.
Untrustworthy and no customer service whatsoever.
