rushed rushed rushed
tl:dr When trying on bridesmaid dresses: We received little to no help, were reprimanded when trying to self-serve when our assistant went MIA, were ultimately rushed into a decision and overall, had a bad experience. We arrived on time, they were running late. No big deal, we look at the bridesmaid dresses. We were told we were not allowed to pull dresses (contrary to my experience on previous shopping trips to the same store). We eventually are allowed to the rooms, except its the shoe storage area for all 4 of us, not the actual fitting rooms. I would expect a fitting room per person, actually I expected a fitting room full stop. I have had to share a fitting room on a previous visit with 1 other people, but 4 people in a shoe closet was laughable. We were also given 1 dress to try on, and were told we would receive more afterwards. This is when our assistant disappeared. We're in the first dress and have nothing else to try on. We then see our assistant with another group, we try to get her attention but she's busy. So we go and pull dresses. Another assistant tells us to stop; are we supposed to stand around and wait? We continue the appointment solo, no assistant in sight, and yes, we get our own dresses to try on as no one else would help! About 1hr into the appointment, we're told we have to leave in 10 minutes, we have to make a decision now, we can't come back later after thinking about it, it has to be during this appointment. We're rushed, we're stressed, we're still in the damn shoe closet. They overbook appointments, have too many people in the area so that you're queuing to look in the mirror. They do not have the sizes you need, the dresses themselves have been tried on so many times, they no longer reflect the dress or the size you think you're buying. There are stains, holes, broken zippers on the dresses. You order the size dress you tried on, there is a chance it will be smaller when you receive the actual dress. If you're desperate for a particular colour, David's will probably have it in stock. That is their only redeeming feature. Otherwise, I would avoid and try high street or other shops, unless you're really desperate. With the average dress around £150, I definitely won't be returning unless I have no other choice.
