So, so, so wrong. Daughter had a time-critical need for a Covid Rx and it took me hours to find anything out. Had to enter the endless spaghetti-loop of phone tree which accomplishes nothing except saving them money by laying everyone off. If this were a different business it wouldn’t be so bad, but this is a medical emergency. How about a little compassion? These viewpoints are based on my personal experiences.

Refills are not done on date indicated…
Refills are not done on date indicated on website. Sometimes not in inventory. When challenged, response is perfunctory and clearly the manager was dismissive. He doesn't care.

Every time I go into CVS there is…
Every time I go into CVS there is always something wrong with the computer. And they are always trying to make me pay out of pocket for my meds. I have insurance, but they always have to look it up. It seems like it's always something.

I went to CVS drive thru in Aug to pick up a prescription and was told that the refill was called in June, so they put it back. The girl at the drive thru window said she would have to "re-order" it and that I should come inside bc the system was trying to refill the brand name instead. I went in and after several minutes of discussion about how my insurance doesn't cover the $47 generic they could fill the $70 brand name Rx. Well, its a no brainer to me since both are exactly the same. So when I said to the gal at the drop off window, "Could you please order the generic?", she walks back between the inventory shelves and comes back and says, "Yeah, we have it in stock." Huh? The girl at the drive thru window said it had to be ordered. Appeared as though someone was trying to upsell the brand name. And of course when I look for a feedback link on the receipt, there is none. When I call CVS 1-800 number, they're closed. When I go to the website to figure out how else to leave feedback it suggests writing a letter (haha). So, I just found it easier to leave the feedback here where maybe someone will actually read it.

Poorly Trained staff in prescription pick up
I had a prescription picked up by someone
They were not informed that it requires refrigeration so the prescription was spoiled, I have asked CVS to replace the prescription at no charge but CVS has refused to take responsibility and replace the prescription I was promised call from a district leader and did not receive one

Reported CVS/MinuteClinic to Health Service & Medical Board
Before writing this, I cross-checked CVS MinuteClinic's own website against Yelp. Nearly every MinuteClinic location boasts a 4.5–5 star rating on CVS.com, backed by conveniently anonymous reviews. The same locations sit at 1–2 stars on Yelp, with a long list of real complaints about customer service, billing, and clinic cleanliness. I can validate the Yelp reviews, given a recent personal experience.
On July 25, 2026, I visited the MinuteClinic inside the CVS in Deer Park, Texas. I was asked to provide a urine sample. When I entered the restroom, it was immediately clear someone there had suffered a medical emergency: the walls, floor, and toilet were covered in human waste. Given the ongoing cyclosporiasis outbreak, I was seriously concerned about the health risk this posed to patients and staff, and I reported it right away to the clinical staff and to the doctor on duty.
The doctor on duty, Marina Rivera, responded: “that isn't my problem.” Horrified, I left without further delay and did not receive any care.
Despite never being seen, my card was charged for the visit. What followed was weeks of contradictory answers from CVS and MinuteClinic representatives, none of whom could (or would) resolve it:
• “You should see the charge drop from your card in 3-5 business days.” - Cassandra, MinuteClinic customer service 7/27
• “Call the MinuteClinic directly for a refund.” – Emily, CVS customer service 7/30
• “You need to call MinuteClinic patient services.”- Selena, CVS customer service 7/30
• “You need to speak with MinuteClinic billing.”- Devon, MinuteClinic customer service 8/4
• 2 hours bounced around on the phone with MinuteClinic billing 8/6
• “This is not the correct number.” – Kristen, CVS Customer service (on the very number she'd just given me) 8/11
• “File a claim with MinuteClinic.” – Max, MinuteClinic customer service 8/12
• “We do not see your visit in our records.” – Max, MinuteClinic customer service 8/12
• “We have no record of you at all.” – Max, MinuteClinic customer service 8/12
• “The billing record is from a year ago.” - Anna, MinuteClinic customer service 8/12 (referring to a charge clearly dated 7/25/26)
• Reported as fraud and immediately refunded. – Credit card service – 8/12
I don't know whether CVS is actively recruiting the worst possible staff or simply no longer cares about patient services or reputation. Either way: unsanitary conditions, a doctor who refuses to acknowledge a health hazard, and a billing department that can't locate its own records is not an isolated bad day – it’s a shame that communities are subjected to such disgraceful conditions.
I've reported this incident, with names, photos, and video, to the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Texas Medical Board, and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (though we all know that will likely result in pats on the back for the incompetent).
