I was interested in trying this out, but since the website cant even send me a verification link so i can get started and start contacting people I guess I will never know. I tried everything I could to trouble shoot it but they do not have a well thought out system to re send confirmation links.

J ai subi une agression sexuelle et un viol de la part de deux couchsurfers différents. Celui qui m a violé est toujours actif sur le site et malgré le fait que j ai signalé ce qu il m a fait. Son compte a juste été rétrogradé en "membre non vérifié". Un scandale et une honte ce site! Et j ai subi un lynchage de la part de la communauté locale en dénonçant ce viol...ce qui fut un traumatisme supplémentaire!

CS says it is an accepting site - but it is very biased and not accepting at all - unless you are of the same opinion as other selfserving - and PC - Western liberals - who mostly have no idea of other cultures but pander to the "poor folks" and whip themselves with a lot of mea culpas but do not come across with cash to enact their grand ideas - if you are a charity case you better be some other culture, and you better understand and admit publically that their values are better than yours - or you risk their Nazi like wrath - and expulsion.

This social web site has an awful customer service and support! They suspended my account for no reason and after emailing them several times they stated that I had "repeated violations". ...Total none sense!! I asked for explanations as what were they referring to!! However, they never responded back. I closed my account for good and now feel much more secure and comfortable!

I have been a member of Couchsurfing for over 4 years. However lately CS seems to be suspending members without any explanation. Today my account got suspended. I have not hosted anyone for at least 6 or 8 months and all my correspondence regarding requests or messages is always decent and polite. My profile does not contain anything special let alone something that goes agains CS terms of services. Perhaps the suspension was not too random...? Not too long ago one of my dear friends and a couchsurf pioneer from Brussels, Belgium was also suspended. As CS did not reply to his e-mails I decided to team up with a few die-hard CS-members to ask CS support to look into his case. Needles to say we did not get any satisfactory answer back from CS. Instead of that I got suspended too as from today?! Really? I have seen CS develop from an awesome platform of volonteers to a commercial business that no longer has an eye for their loyal users. Time to register to other simular platforms! CS has grown into an over-commercial organization where people have turned into just being numbers. Marc - Brussels & Amsterdam

I’m traveling in Canada and l was hoping to do some Couchsurfing as a new and more real way to experience travel. It’s a great concept, it’s a social exchange. However it’s been a disappointing experience so far, l was looking for an authentic experience but all lve had is a complete lack of a response from everyone lve contacted. Many profiles are so out of date - over 10 years. Oh well, it’s society nowadays!!!

In short: - Most traveller's are just looking just for free place to sleep - Most hosts are men looking for hookup, some imply to that in their profile, saying things like they have shared bed or nude home habits, or offering massage. - Male traveller's find it hard to find hosts, only get to find desperate female hosts. - Female tavellers are open to have sex with the host in exchange for free sleep, they even imply to that in their profile like bikini photos or offering massage. -So tfemale guests choose hosts based on their look in case they have to have sex with them, like normal hookup sites - Most travelers are females and most hosts are men - No one cares about culture exchange or any future connection. - Couchsurfing do not care about all this, they are just concerned that no one talks about this. - Couchsurfing bans members who discuss this in public forums - MOST DANGEROUSLY, COUCHSURFING KEEP ALL YOUR DATA EVEN AFTER BANN OR DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT, INCLUDING YOUR ADRESS, PHONE NUMBER, FACEBOOK LINK, PICTURES, INSIDE HOME PICTURES,, WITHOUT YOUR APPROVAL, EVEN AFTER THE NEW EUROPEAN LAW.

I came to London, and stayed with Chiara, and Lorenzo. They were such great hosts from making me feel so welcome, to great conversations; and great food! I think couch surfing is great! It sure was a great experience for me, and I will do it again!
