Like many of you I didn't pay attention for the verification and that famous little grey text that mentions the sum of 60$, I asked for a refund and I received an email "request accepted" within the same hour.
Mail:
Hello,
I put my credit card for verification and you took 60$, why?
Thank you for your help
Answer from support:
Hello Skander,
I have processed your refund as requested. You should see the funds returned to the account you paid from within 5 to 10 business days. Please keep in mind these time frames can vary depending on your bank.
You should have been able to see how much Verification costs, and the fact that it is a one-time payment that verifies your profile for life, on the Verification page (the page where you entered your payment details). We use the revenue received from Verification subscriptions to keep the site running.
Just so it's clear, verification is an *optional* program and is not required to use the site. We have many successful members at every level of verification, including those not Verified.

Kein Support vorhanden

Terrible first impression so far....
I have to say - I am on the road and the idea of couchsurfing every now and again - especially when I am in a new area - is appealing to me. So I signed up for Couchsurfing (the app). And my experience thus far has been one of frustration and annoyance. It kept asking me to verify (phone and laptop) and so I did so through Facebook thinking it would be easier. But then it kept having me verify and then it added more than one account. OMG."This isn't worth the pain that this is becoming," I think to myself.
Verify Account
Finally I think I have it worked out, taken the time to fill out my profile (another annoyance - I signed up through Facebook - some of this information should have auto-populated like it does with other apps) and then it prompts me to verify my account. OK. I think - no problem. I'll verify through PayPal - probably cost me a like a $1 to verify that I have a legit account. Nope. $60 USD.
WHAAAAT???
So I go back and look at the verification page - NO WHERE does it say that it's $60 to support them. No where. So at this point I am totally turned off.
Conclusion:
I am sure there is some great value here. Otherwise they wouldn't be doing it and people wouldn't be signing up. But I am probably not the only one that has had this first impression. So if you're reading this from the company (long shot I know) then you should know this is happening. I am now far more hesitant to bother with your service.

Couchsurfing is a great traveller's…
Couchsurfing is a great traveller's community. Great means of information and support for someone travelling to a new country and most couchsurfers are friendly and informative about their locality. This community has great potential to thrive and hit a bigger level of audience

Me and my husband had 8 days in …
Me and my husband had 8 days in Siegfried`s family guesthouse. I misunderstood him when he wrote to me on CS, I thought he wanted to invite us for free, but he offered us to booking the room. And we decided to stay in his guesthouse just for one, may be two, nights. But when we came and saw the accomodation and location and met Siegfried with his girlfriend Lili we changed our mind. We felt ourselves so good there, that we decided to stay with them to the end of our trip. Siegfrid is so nice and smiling guy, very hospitable and polite. He is very tolerant if your English is not so good. And his girlfriend Lili is something incredible:)) We spent a lot of time together. Lili was our friend and guide, and when we fell from scooter she was our mom:)) I will miss her so much. With Siegfrid and Lili we visited Old Goa and Tambdi Surla Mahadev Temple, and tried some Goa`s street food. It was great. With Lili we visited Anjuna and Vagator beaches, Aguada and Chapora forts, Calangute and Mapusa markets. She helped us explore Goa and it was unforgettable. We really enjoyed this time spended on Goa, except falling;)) We hope to see Siegfried and Lili again, on Goa or in Crimea. And this time I hope Sasha will see Calangute beach in the day light:))) You are most welcomed, our friends, in Yalta. We wish you all the best! Take care and see you:)
