Stressful and Extremely Frustrating
We shopped at several stores in Naples and were looking for a specific width dining table set. After looking at several stores we pulled into City Furniture. We were greeted by a very nice and informative sales person, Natalie. She listened to what we said and she showed us table sets that met our measurement guidelines. Although I was a bit hesitant with purchasing there, knowing that the quality isn’t great, we decided to purchase the set. We crawled under the table and flipped all of the chairs to inspect for construction quality and felt it was good. We set up delivery and received the set. The table and one chair was damaged. We called the store and they said we had to go through the claims process online. We did and they set up a new delivery date to replace the table and chair. Table two was delivered and it had a large water spot on it. Claim number two. (While preparing for this delivery, the chairs were moved out of the way, I noticed two of the legs on different chairs were cracked, all the way through.) We called the store to see if the two new chairs could be brought with table number three but they said we’d have to file yet another claim, so we did. (Claim number three.) The claims department said they’d have to send a repair person out first and if we weren’t happy, they’d replace the chairs. We told them we wanted the chairs replaced as a cracked repaired chair isn’t acceptable. The repair was set up. The night before the scheduled ‘repair’ they called and said the two chairs couldn’t be fixed and they’d give us a gift certificates, a discount, or two new chairs. We wanted the two new chairs to complete the set. (If we wanted damaged furniture we’d go to goodwill.). The two chairs won’t be available until April. We will wait until then and hope we get two undamaged chairs. (This all took place in about 10 days, with the delays due to the delivery schedules.) We are in our 60’s and have bought lots of furniture over the years. We have NEVER had to replace one piece until this dreadful, stressful, and frustrating experience. Oh, how I wish I would have gone a little wider on the table at another store to avoid this terrible experience. Honestly, I’d love to return the entire set and start over!!! We will not go back to City Furniture again and hope this will be resolved soon.
