We booked the Claremont hotel for my 74 yr old dad who at the time took ill so we had to change the date, they didn’t want to but they eventually did, unfortunately on these new dates 18-23 August dad has got his hospital appointments through so I have been on to reservations (Chloe) was lovely but had to confirm with her boss Carolyne Hall reservations manager who said you are only allowed one change, even though the dates are available and we would pay the extra cost, she just said unfortunately you will have to loose all your £600 or come, not helpful at all. With all that is going on in the world and she can’t make an exception and £600 is a lot of money to loosethe Claremont hotel Blackpool used to be a place they went when mum was alive so would have been a nice place for him to return. Customer reservation not helpful at all.

Don’t stay at San Diego old town choice hotel
Will not stay in the Old Town choice hotel San Diego ever. Worst experience ever after having a personal item stolen from my room whilst out and after speaking to the manager was told housekeeper let a female into the room and that was not me as we were out. Now I am missing an expensive item that was a present from my son for my 60th birthday. Nobody has bothered getting in touch even though choice hotels powers above have told the hotel to contact me they have not , And will not answer to my emails if this is not quilt what is !!!! I will never stay in this chain of hotels ever again. I am appalled how I have been treated.

Dirty & unsafe
I am writing to formally request a full refund of $483.10 for my recent stay at Econolodge, Great Barrington, ma.
Exterior and Safety Concerns:
The exterior of the building was worn out and weathered.
The stairs posed a tripping hazard.
Room Cleanliness and Maintenance:
The shower was dirty, with pubic and long black hairs on the shower stall walls.
Mattresses were worn out and uncomfortable.
The rooms were very dusty, and the floors were dirty.
The bathroom vent was excessively noisy and appeared not to work.
The hair dryer was non-functional.
The toilet seat was improperly fastened and slid around.
The sink stopper was down, requiring me to go under the sink to release it.
Room Amenities and Functionality:
We had to reuse the room key holder multiple times as it was erased frequently.
The lock on the room door was faulty, requiring jiggling to enter.
Management never inquired about our stay or offered assistance.
I know this is not an upscale hotel, and I know the aging condition makes it look bad, but I expected a clean room with a comfortable bed. These things are under their control.
The conditions of the room were so poor that I felt embarrassed inviting friends to visit, and the constant discomfort led to a very distressing stay. It was, without a doubt, the most humiliating and unsatisfactory lodging experience I’ve encountered in my 69 years.
Given these issues, I believe a full refund is warranted. I request that this matter be addressed promptly and that I receive confirmation of the refund at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this issue. I look forward to your response.
I just called the hotel, and they refused to provide me with their email address… How about that?

The “oh well!” hotel - (The missing Seinfeld episode)
So I woke up at 5:20am to a beeping sound. Went back to bed and heard it again. Couldn’t find what it was. Heard it 2 more times. Picked up the in-house phone and tried calling the main desk. Phone didn’t work. (No #on card & way too tired to Google) so I showed up at the front desk in my pj’s. I told the lady what was happening. She said, “…oh well, I can’t do anything.” I told her the phone wasn’t working. She said “…oh well, I can’t do anything about that either.” I said I wanted a new room. She said “They’re all booked.” I said I had to drive 2 hrs and it wasn’t acceptable that I could not sleep with the beeping sound and if I were to get into an accident bcz of my tiredness they would be liable. She shrugged and said “…oh well!” —“Maybe I’ll text the GM. I can’t call him because he’s SLEEPING!”— the irony! —The robust woman thought… maybe it may be the alarm and she’d come up to change it. I was waiting a bit too long. For some reason I opened the door. She stood in front of my door without knocking. She held an old milk crate that would probably not have withstood her body weight. She mumbled something and she entered. Upon investigation, she determined the alarm was too high for her to reach even with the milk crate and without trying. “Oh well” I hear her mumble. She left. This episode of Seinfeld was way too much & way too early on a Saturday —-Oh well! You get what you pay for!

Diamond club member with issues.
I am a diamond club member I was also a gold member with IHG. My wife and I decided when we started traveling to use one or the other to gain more points. We chose choice rewards because of all the blackout dated with IHG. We are nearing the end of our 3rd long trip and choosing choice has been a mistake. Their hotels are to unpredictable. One comfort inn will be nice the next terrible. Just stayed at a cambria. Not good. Bad breakfast at some good at others. Zero consistency . Not something you want to worry about when traveling. I have complained problems with mgmt and choice rewards and posted problems with no compensation for anything ever. From wet floors, elevators not working, no food out for breakfast, ice machines not working at many of their hotels and the worst has been no room service or towel access. Always get the form letter answer we are working on it, will use your Comme to for training etc... on this last trip I have not been acknowledged as a diamond member once and no points given for check in. In the past 60 stays probably have been acknowledged 10 times. So I will have to call choice to get points awarded like so many other times. I have never gotten a room upgrade, late or early checkout. What you do get is more points which is nice but no good if the hotels you can use them in are so unpredictable and many just nasty. Think twice before joining choice rewards compared to other programs.

Poor security, lack of management response and dishonesty
My wife and I stayed at the Comfort Inn San Diego Old Town from June 25th to 27th, trusting the Comfort Inn brand based on previous positive experiences in the USA. Unfortunately, our recent stay was marred by several issues.
Arrival Experience:
We were greeted by a "lady of the night" at the entrance, who retreated when she saw my wife. This was a very unsettling start to our stay.
Check-In and Room:
The check-in process and room were satisfactory, consistent with our past experiences with Comfort Inn.
Incident with Personal Property:
Upon checking out, my wife realised she had left her Ralph Lauren sunglasses in the room. We called the hotel later that day to report the missing item. After two follow-up calls, Wendy from the front desk informed us that housekeeping had supposedly allowed a woman back into our room to retrieve the sunglasses. This was alarming as my wife and I were always together, raising serious concerns about security and honesty.
Lack of Response from Management:
When I called back to speak with a manager, I requested an investigation into how a stranger was allegedly let into our room or whether the housekeeper fabricated the story and took the sunglasses. I was promised a callback, which has yet to happen. The following day, I spoke with Gabriel, who identified himself as the operations manager and claimed this was the first he had heard of the incident. Again, I left my contact details and was promised a follow-up, which didn't happen.
Escalation to Corporate:
I escalated the issue by emailing Comfort Hotels and Choice Hotels. The response I received was a mere acknowledgement stating, "Your complaint has been noted," with no indication of an investigation into the hotel's failings.
Final Thoughts:
It has now been ten days since this incident, and no action or follow-up has occurred. If this matter is not resolved quickly, I will escalate the issue by contacting Patrick Pacious directly.
Overall, the lack of security, poor handling of our complaint, and unresponsiveness from the hotel management and corporate offices have disappointed us deeply. We expected better from a brand we trusted on multiple trips across the USA.
I look forward to a prompt and thorough response.

Poor quality experiences
Most of the hotels I've stayed at belonging to Choice are either understaffed, don't have enough hours to schedule employees, or must have the laziest crew there is because rooms don't get cleaned, requests made during booking are ignored, and even getting a requested room like a suite doesn't matter because they will put you in a smaller room and still charge for the suite. They do not honor their promos if there is just the slightest of loopholes they can use, even one that makes absolutely no sense. Being a Gold, Platinum, etc. Member is completely irrelevant because you get none of the perks they state, not even checking in early or out late. The customer service via email or phone is terrible and make it clear they do not care for their customers at all.
