We always recommend checking the pricing details shown in the app before initiating a charging session. That way, you can make an informed choice based on your preferences and budget. We understand how frustrating it can be when the registration and payment process feels unnecessarily difficult. Collecting details like your address and phone number is part of industry-standard security and verification measures—especially for services involving authorisation holds and refunds—but we fully recognise this can feel excessive compared to a simple retail transaction. Users are required to submit their payment information within the app prior to initiating their first charge at a station. To confirm the payment method, ChargePoint will impose a nominal fee, which will be refunded to your account once the verification process is completed. At the commencement of your initial electric vehicle charging session, a charge based on the region you are located, will be applied to your account to maintain a balance. Requesting you to help us with the Chargepoint registered email address to look and assist you further. The authorisation process is meant to ensure funds are available before a charge starts, but it's clear this created an unexpected burden, and we’re sorry for that. While authorisation holds are released by us immediately upon a failed session, the actual clearing timeline depends on your bank’s policies — though we agree it shouldn’t take days. We're currently investigating the issues reported at that location and working with our technical team to get faulty chargers back online.
