Rental Car Claim of Nearly $6,000 Paid in Less Than a Month
After reading these reviews I was terrified, but I have to say my experience was amazing (my claim of nearly $6,000 was just paid today about 30 days after initiating it). I rented a car at Hertz and declined the LDW, charging the rental on my Chase Sapphire Preferred card. I was in a single-car accident (I swerved to avoid a cat that darted into the road, hitting the curb and damaging the wheels and axles.) Anyhow, I eventually uploaded the docs requested on eclaimsline (it is a confusing process). Hertz contacted me and said they would upload the remaining documents required (estimate of repairs, etc.) directly, which they did after I gave them the claims number. Nobody ever contacted me from eclaims, nor did I receive any emails other than the initial email saying my claim had been opened. I just had to keep logging into eclaims and uploading the remaining docs as they came in (they even accepted a printout of charges from Chase.com since they hadn't shown up on my statement yet). I can see this process being frustrating or downright aggravating if you need further explanation of what is required. I probably oversubmitted what was needed out of an abundance of caution. Anyhow, as I said, after reading the reviews here I was petrified my claim would never be paid, or that it would drag on for months and months. Yet in less than a month, a nearly $6000 claim was paid. What a relief. I will say my rental was in the U.S. which almost certainly helped.
