I’m Surprised They Haven’t Killed Someone Yet
Due to consistent problems and either incompetence or willful indifference I had to file a complaint with the NY Attorney General Here is my complaint To Whom It May Concern, I am writing this complaint in regards to a medical supply company headquartered in White Plains, NY, Byram Healthcare. I am a type 1 diabetic who manages my condition with an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor. I am a private pay out of pocket customer, as a result there is a continuing and ongoing issue. They regularly cancel orders of my necessary supplies to survive, due to no insurance information despite having notes in my file showing that I am private pay and that products can be shipped. This often means that I am without life sustaining supplies while they eventually confirm that yes, I am a private pay customer and my supplies can be shipped. This happens for both my continuous glucose monitors and insulin pump supplies. This results in me having to spend 45 dollars on overnight shipping for a product that they intentionally make take 2-3 days to process before finally shipping. This results in not having my needed supplies, forcing me to use what I have in a non approved manner to stretch their life, risking infection and secondary health risks. They have an indifference and due to either incompetence or willful disregard I am worried that it is only a matter of time before I end up dead. I would absolutely switch if there were other options but unfortunately there are none. Update: After reaching out via chat I was given the same runaround. I pointed out how the shipping date always reverts to whatever calendar date on that particular day is. Naturally because those agents are more than likely kept in the dark and designed to placate people. As the question “is there anything else I can help you with today” was repeatedly asked I realized that because this agent was realizing I wasn’t going to be able to be pushed off the chat, when I asked for a supervisor the request was received very quickly. Within a half hour I did receive a call from a supervisor, he let me yell at him and took it all in stride. After I yelled about the fact that they were going to kill me. He proceeded to not apologize but to state that he couldn’t begin to understand what I have repeatedly gone through and it should have never been allowed to go on for as long as it did. He stated that there were so many things wrong internally with my account. Multiple addresses, saying my account needing insurance approval but also being a private pay customer. He proceeded to quickly create a new account for me with all of the information and got my items shipped out overnight. He even offered to move my other prescription for my g7 to this account. I did decline as now that the g7 compatible with tslim is available at Walgreens and with a GoodRX coupon the price is half of theirs it made no sense. As I write this, my supplies are currently on a truck headed my direction. Overall Agent gets a d+, as they simply toed the company line and strategy. Supervisor gets an A-, it would be an A+ given he worked for a company that didn’t contact to Byram. Byram on a scale of A-Z gets a Z-. They didn’t even waive my overnight shipping. I’m incredibly lucky I had a spare long acting pen that was unopened and good until December 2024.
