I've rented with Bungalow for a year. I have nothing good to say. Frequent rent increases, atrocious follow-through on maintenance requests, lack of charge visibility, poor payment interface, zero customer service. Cheap price, cheap service, horrible experience.

On February 3rd 2023 Bungalow allowed contractors to enter into my bedroom and residence where they were instructed to throw away my personal items and start doing work on my room before my lease end date was up on February 5th. Not only did they jeopardize my safety, but they illegally entered the home. The contractors also threw out some of my items. I called the police thankfully and I will be taking bungalow to landlord tenant court. I am now also not sure if I will get my deposit back because the contractors began working on my room and painting up the walls during the last two days of my lease agreement.

Scam company. Moved into a bedbug infested house, they didn't lift a finger to help, finally the landlady ended up paying for it. Didn't get compensated for the month I had to live elsewhere. Ever since we have been overcharged: they have lied to me about my lease, lied to me about informational emails they didn't send me about constant price increase, and boosted my rent by over 500 in the space of 6 months. It is impossible to reach a human being that cares within a reasonable timeframe, so if your issue concerns billing, don't you worry that they'll add on late fees even though they took weeks to respond! From the bottom of my hard, Bungalow is a middleman company that should not exist. they steal value from renters and homeowners alike while providing absolutely no service beyond a $150 pp per month "cleaning fee" that is not optional. Even the group of young men I lived with cleaned better than them. By the way Bungalow, if you see this, fix my rent balance and make sure it doesn't become a problem again and I'll delete. But I doubt you care

DO NOT MOVE TO ANY BUNGALOW!!! I repeat do not move to any of their apartments!! Biggest scam I've seen. If you care about your mental health, and quality of life do yourself a favor and take my comment very very seriously.

Bungalow sucks! I've never written a review this bad but I need to so you don't make this mistake of renting from them. Bungalow doesn't come to fix issues in time, pictures they provide on their website are misleading! Most of the furniture in their pictures was removed from the rooms at some point. Customer service SUCKS! Don't fix the issue, and threaten you if you do something they don't like. Once you move out you have to contact them for months and threaten to take them to small claims court before they give you back your deposit. Luckily my housemates were mostly nice, but this must be a nightmare if you find yourself with a bad housemate, which does happen.

I rented one of their homes in Chicago, and one of the roommates, Thad, was a creep who would film me from across the house, screw and tamper with my things and was generally just a petty jerk to everyone in the house. The company did pretty much nothing about it so suffice to say they have a horrible screening process. Not to mention the house was basically a glorified shack from the inside, some outlets didn’t work, we got rats, tv didn’t work, walls were peeling, essentially as many things as you could expect to be wrong that you wouldn’t have been able to tell from the pictures. They also attempted to try and tell me that my security deposit wasn’t technically a security deposit and therefore couldn’t be returned. Thank god for the 15 day trial.

They are an invisible company that wouldn't lift a finger to help if any problem arises. They advertise themselves as this all inclusive package deal, like your joining a family of sorts, but it couldn't be further from the truth! Boiler stops working in the middle of winter? 1.5 months to get it fixed, no problem. Internet issues because the router malfunctions? Can't book a technician and will not provide details so that you can book a technician yourself to fix. Locked out of the apartment and they have a lockbox? Easy...$200 to get the code. Wait...you got your own locksmith that you paid for and provided extra keys to all the roomates already? $210 charge for putting that new key in the lockbox. Conveniently changed a fixed rate utility charge to as bills come, you pay exactly those plus a service charge, without informing the tenants or updating the lease to showcase accordingly. Used and still uses COVID to provided the most minimalistic assistance for anything. Want to dispute a charge? get harassed by 4 to 5 team members till you fold. These guys exist to squeeze money out of people who do no know what they are getting into. So this is my warning of sorts, unless you are desperate please stay far away from these guys

Worst company to rent from! They used to have hundreds of 1 star ratings on Google Reviews, but none of these are accessible anymore. They'll put up a flimsy piece of drywall in the living room to add another "room" the size of a closet. On the day I moved in, I wasn't provided a code to the door so I was locked out for hours with the Uhaul and had to pay an overnight cost. At one point, they gave a roommate an early move in date without notifying us (current residents) and when she appeared, we were all confused. She called Bungalow Living and they told her to evacuate the apartment asap. This was the first apartment away from her family and she had just flown in from across the country. Would not recommend. Everyone that has lived with Bungalow Living has a horror story or two, and nobody renews their lease.
