I wish I would have checked these guys out before ordering from them. Their website doesn't describe the item accurately and I ended up with a replacement part that was not the right one. I started a return on April 5th and received an email stating that I would get a return shipping label in 3 to 5 days. Here it is April 21st and still no shipping label despite phone calls, emails, and chat. Everything is within their 30 day return policy, but they continue to make excuses for not sending the return shipping label. I guess my only course of action is to see if my credit card company can intervene for me.

It has been 3 days since I started calling regarding a range hood never received. They confirmed that it never left the warehouse but still no one has an idea as to why. I will not buy from them ever again.

I have had nothing but good experiences with build.com. I had a lot of trouble (my fault) figuring out the right faucets, shower system and accessories for my bathroom remodel. I have had lots of help from the build.com representatives in picking out my initial items and then helping me return what did not work and picking out some other items to try. I would definitely use this company again. It features good products, and, from my experience, excellent customer service.

It has been soooo easy ordering and receiving materials in a timely manner. Build has a great selection and prices. Notably when one of the packages got lost, I was sent a replacement at no charge. The staff that I spoke to was very courteous and everything was resolved quickly!

Buyer beware. I purchased an ice maker after reviewing their returns policy. I took it out of the box realized it was the wrong wiring and replaced it in the box. Assumed returns would be straight forward. Guess again. They qualify an ice maker attachment as an appliance thereby having it fall under the Kitchenaid no return policy. Kitchenaid itself has the ice maker replacement under parts. I was told by the office of the president that parts were appliances and I was using semantics. I ask who is using semantics.

I ordered 6 items and was charged at the time of the order. On the day of promised delivery (13 days after order) I was notified all 6 items were back-ordered (to their credit I WAS notified) and a day later notified all 6 were on their way. Seven days later the package arrived with 5 of the items, no packing slip, marked carton 1 of 1, nothing to account for the 6th item. Request is in to Customer Service, but not too enamored of my experience with Build.com.

I ordered 3 products. Two out of three were cancelled by Build.com after the fact and one was sent before the previous were cancelled. The items were meant to go together. So when I put in for a return, I get charged for the return shipping?! Really?! What kind of business does that to it's customers. Will never buy from this company again and do my best to make sure no one I know does the same. Terrible customer service. They were nice on the phone about the return and "convenienly didn't tell me I'd be on the hook for the shipping.... Angry customer.
