I had an initial intake with this therapist. I completed some assessments for Brighteside. Brightside recommended the suicide prevention program. I was scheduled with a therapist the next day name Rebecca Edwards (same person that the complaint is about). I was scheduled for 6pm today. This was the only time that they offered me. During the appointment Rebecca was very rude to me. I politely told her that my son was sleeping and that he might wake up. She told me that for now on to schedule my appointments at a better time. I told her that this was the only time that I was offered. She told me that was not true and that is my own problem. I told her that I did not like how she was speaking to me and I wouldn't talk to a patient like that. She told me that she does not have time for my shit and hung up on me. I would like to add that was feeling suicidal at the time of the appointment and that was the reason why I was referred to see her by Brighterside. I would like to add that I didn't threaten the therapist or curse at the therapist. She didn't provide me with any warnings. She just hung up on me.

We’re deeply sorry to hear about your experience and truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. The interaction you described does not reflect the standards of care or respect that every person deserves — especially when seeking support for something as serious as suicidal thoughts. We take situations like this extremely seriously. While we are unable to discuss specific actions taken with any provider, please know that we’ve escalated your concerns to our internal Quality and Clinical Leadership teams for thorough review and appropriate follow-up. If you're open to it, we’d like to connect with you directly so we can ensure your experience is fully understood and addressed. You can reach us anytime at [email protected].

I’m very happy with my therapist and like my NP. We are working on meds and dosing, but I can tell we are on the right track. The app is good, but could use a couple of tweaks. The main thing, on the patient side, is not being able to schedule more than 2 weeks out. Also, it isn’t as intuitive to navigate as I would have hoped. If feels like there are things filed away in areas that I don’t know to look in (or features I don’t know exist), overall, the therapy and NP care are most important to me, and I am happy with those.

Brightside has served as a great refresher for my previous experience with direct therapy and CBT training. My provider is super intuitive and extremely insightful. I appreciate all of the help I'm receiving.

I had a horrible experience with Brightside. My therapist was Diana Lugg Brown. She does not listen she is also very emotional herself. She diagnosed me the first session and when I asked for help at work she told me she “didn’t know me like that” then she hung up in my face. Her demeanor was ugly. She looked angry and as if she didn’t want to speak with me. I’ve since found another therapist and it’s been night and day. I think Diana is an awful person and I want to share my experience so that others know what they are getting themselves into. It seemed like I was just another number while working with her. She would call me while I was at work a lot. Then she had me scheduled to see her every week but wanted me to go to other drs or facilities for testing.

Hi there, we're really sorry to hear about your experience. That’s not the kind of care we aim to provide, and we understand how upsetting this must have been. After reviewing our provider records, we don’t see anyone by that name associated with Brightside. We’d really appreciate the chance to learn more so we can look into this further. Please reach out to our Member Services team at [email protected] so we can better understand what happened and work to make things right.

45 minutes for appointment is too long for me.. they redundant. The medicine seems to get my serotonin levels back on track. I'm wondering how we finish these therapy sessions.
