BetterHelp has been great. I decided I needed to go back to counseling because I was having trouble working through somethings on my own. Covid-19 hit so face-to-face was not an option especially since I am immunocompromised. It took a counselor or 2 before I found the right one for me through BetterHelp. I am definitely seeing & feeling the changes & progress I am making with the help of my counselor. I would definitely recommend BetterHelp to a friend as another option to consider for therapy.

I have been using Better Help for over 2 years. I have had the same counselor all along. Patrick Currie is a godsend to me. I came to him with a lifetime of trauma, feeling low worth, repressed anger, conflict, depression & effects of sexual & verbal abuse, plus abandonment from my children. Patrick employs just the right balance of listening, affirming, validating with valuable feedback & helpful tools to help me sort out, recognize, grow & heal while empowering myself to make healthy changes & resolve issues. His methods, suggestions & caring understanding nature are invaluable to me!

BetterHelp is a fantastic step in the right direction for anyone looking to get help. You can use it as much or as little as you need it and you get paired with a therapist. Mine turned out to be amazing and now, my only regret, is that I wish I had started using it sooner.

Had a very bad experience. I do not think people should be charged upfront during the free trial. I believe it should be like many other services where you only pay if you continue on using the service after the free trial. It is also very difficult to get a refund or cancel the service. I feel like it should be processed through a new means and not through a email with an employee like it is now. But getting to the actual therapy itself: I was very excited at first but soon became disillusioned. My therapist was Antoinette Edmonds and she was incredibly cold and disinterested. I would send messages pouring out my heart and my concerns and all I would get in response were short 3 worded responses back. It didn't even feel like she read the messages. She would give short, generic responses that were not the valuable insight I expected to hear from a licensed therapist who is supposed to care about me. She did not give me any advice or empathize with me at all. She also only is available through scheduled live text chats, but her schedule is always full so I was only able to speak to her twice in a 2 months time. Very hard to actually get into contact with. Could not get a new therapist as "no one else is licensed for my area." There are so many therapists out there and you're saying there were none who were licensed for a major North American city?

I really recommend this app as it really does match your needs. You feel valued and it's nice to talk to professionals who are really understanding. Affordable

The replies are fast and hits right where you need it to hit, for your growth and purposes.

Horrible service and very disappointed. The 3 counselors they match me with had no availability. One also never login for session. I have asked for a refund through the chat Since I’m getting charge for no service. No way to communicate with customer service but through email and of course no response.
