The counselor with whom I was matched upon joining has been kind, compassionate, and an excellent listener. She has provided me with feedback which is helping me to better understand and cope with issues that have been struggles for me. She is very supportive, and checks in with me throughout the week via the messaging feature. For me, this experience has thus far been beneficial and positive.

I started using BetterHelp through a benefit that my college offers. As I'm going through a very difficult patch in life, due to numerous deaths in the family, job loss, a breakup and other personal issues, the counselor that I'm currently working with has been incredibly kind and understanding, as well as keeping an open forum where I can share my thoughts, which I do not get the opportunity to do elsewhere. She's offered some great feedback and has set a path for me to take in order to heal. I'm truly grateful for BetterHelp.

I needed short-term support during a period of intense crisis, and was very pleasantly surprised by how much effective help and kindness I received. Strong recommend.

I wanted to share my experience using betterhelp for everyone considering using this service. I recently really hit a very low personal point in my life. I wanted to talk to someone as this was keeping me up at night and making me constantly tired in the day. I searched for a service that was available 24 hours and found betterhelp. I signed up to this but I was told I would have to wait 24-48 hours to speak to someone. I really thought given this is a service to improve mental health that someone would be immediately available. I was disappointed. After reconsidering the price and that my job may be at risk of redundancy, I cancelled my subscription. To be clear, I hadn't spoken to anyone and cancelled my subscription... I was still charged £140 for a service I didnn't use! Considering this is a service to imrpove mental health and tackle issues such as handling stress, I was VERY disappointed and frustrated. I dont think it is fair that this expense didn't help me and still took my money. I'm still stressed and now have additional anxiety over the cost of this service that I didnt use. I dont recommend this service at all. I was robbed before I even started and have additional financial and mental stress because of betterhelp. UPDATE: Although I didn't use the service, since posting my review I was fully refunded hassle free. Thank you.

Terrible experience. I am dealing with general anxiety (who isn't right now?). Nothing exotic. However, the therapists on Better Help think nothing of logging in every couple days, sending a sentence or two in response to your long email explaining what you would like help with and then telling you that they mostly deal with clients through Zoom or recommending that you post to an online journal that they don't read or provide feedback on. So you go to set up a Zoom meeting, only to find out that they either 1) don't have availability for weeks, or 2) need to reply to your email or don't have their settings correct to allow you to do that. So you wait a few more days for them to update their calendar or get back to you and you realize that you'd spent more than $65 in 8 days and literally haven't received one bit of helpful feedback, recommendations, or interaction. Its a complete rip off. You will run in circles trying to get help, adding to your stress levels, and the therapists feel totally fine with five minutes a week of their time in response. Take your $260 a month and go schedule two, full hour, in person or phone sessions with a real therapist.

My current counselor has helped me already. I started with a different counselor who didn’t think she could help, but she recommended me to a new one that’s going well so far. So far betterhelp has helped a lot.
