I actually found my BetterHelp therapy sessions far better than the ones I had through public insurance or school. I found BetterHelp affordable with the pandemic/ student "financial aid" (discount) options. It's also a better value than other services because I could schedule a weekly video/ phone call in addition to the asynchronous chat. The weekly phone calls were very much worth it. Starting out I filled out a questionnaire that had options to add what I was looking for in a counselor and what issues I wanted to work on. I got matched in about three days with a counselor who turned out to be a GREAT fit for me and got help with immediate issues. I was also able to reach out to customer service which was very responsive. Overall, I had a positive experience and I think I'll use BetterHelp in the future again. :)

I needed some help during an overwhelming situation. The counselor I was matched with in Betterhelp has really been a great help to me. She's very empathetic, relates to my situation, she's a good listener and she helps me put my issues in perspective. I feel clearer about my goals and she's helping me strategize how to meet those goals.

The customer service provided by this organisation is absolutely unprofessional. They cleverly have no helpline to call only an email address. I emailed them multiple times regarding a refund to which I had no reply, but if I sent a generic email I received a response in 2 working days. So it was clear they were purposefully ignoring my email pertaining to a refund due to unsatisfactory service. In the four weeks I had not “met” my counsellor, I was just given 3 worksheets which led to me reaching out to customer services and being faced with blatant disrespect and disregard for myself. My first scheduled video call with my counsellor was cancelled without any consultation TWO hours beforehand. It was then rescheduled on their time without any discussion on if the new allocated time worked for me. I lost out yet again. Overall, this was a very disheartening experience for my first time seeking out therapy and left me feeling worse than when I came in. In addition, if you do not live in America I wouldn’t recommend this service. The counsellors are working on American time so bare this in mind.

Betterhelp is exactly what I was looking for. I Loved the experience of finding a therapist and once I was paired with one I really liked who I got. She was super helpful and really listened to what I had to say. They also offered financial aid which was amazing because I'm a student and wouldn't be able to afford it

I'm stopping my subscription with Betterhelp today after only 2 months of therapy because I saw great results. I feel great now. This experience was very user-friendly, from the comfort of my home. The therapist was amazing and a great listener. She gave me a toolkit to be able to maintain my mental health on my own. This is very practical. I was able to reach out to her and schedule video calls at my convenience.

Better Help is fast, effective, and convenient! No matter your schedule they can match you with an experienced person to fit your needs. With all the stress and anxiety dealing with COVID, work, and family, I am so glad I connected with them!

2020 was a rough year and I found that tools I used to use to help myself bounce back from funks wasn't working. My mental check engine light was on. Because of COVID-19, I didn't feel comfortable looking for a therapist locally. I wanted a virtual setting and was drawn to BetterHelp because I could work with a therapist remotely, but also via text support. The first therapist I was matched to wasn't the right fit, but it was super easy to request a new one. My second therapist is amazing. She is exactly what I need. I so appreciate I can type up a text message or two and get a response within a few hours. I also meet with her on a weekly basis via video conference. The app is very easy to use and provides privacy so I know what I share is kept confidential. I highly recommend BetterHelp for those that may need or want therapy but haven't found good in-person options.
