Skeptical
I was skeptical of counseling and honestly couldn't get myself to go see anyone in person. ALWAYS making excuses to myself on why I wasn't going; Price, location, availability, will it work, and so on. I decided to just give it a try! (ugh, the things you do on good days) I was impressed with how quickly I was matched with a counselor near me. Her time was flexible and the location was my couch. I was able to set up video calls with her on my good days and she was there to chat via messaging on my bad days. The journal seemed silly at first but later became a tool I used to track my feelings. I was able to track and see that I had far less "bad days" then it felt. I have been using BetterHelp for 2 short months now, the price is far better than any in person sessions available to me and I get to set the schedule. There are multiple ways to get in contact with my counselor and no penalty for canceling. All I can say is, Its worth a try. Even if its just once. Who knows, this could be your saving grace.
