I paid $320 for a monthly service which I was told included 4 sessions. Due to the fact you cannot book out numerous sessions and the therapists have limited availability, I’ll be getting just 2 sessions. This is only because they gave me an extra week to try to persuade me not to quit! I changed therapists 3 times because of the lack of available appointments. I don’t think therapist hopping is the key to optimal results! I will never use messaging or the other services, so I have completely wasted hundreds of dollars. Really disappointing.

I came across BetterHelp through social media when I was researching therapists to help me with some issues I have been dealing with. I had reached out to a couple of therapists and never heard back. I then decided to give BetterHelp a chance, I was first matched with a therapist that did not meet my requirements, and their customer support team reached out to offer help matching me with a better-suited therapist. They asked me a few questions and then sent me a list of potential therapists available. I chose a great therapist from that list and have made strides working with her. I reached out to customer support a different time for a different issue and they resolved my concern in a timely manner. I only have praise for the BetterHelp team and recommend them to anyone in need of help!

Therapy has always been performative for me. I would show up once a week and spill my guts or talk from behind my mask. I had no idea how integral the journal feature would be to my healing process. I gut-spill throughout the week and receive thoughtful, intelligent and prompt responses from my therapist. It keeps me connected to my mental health goals and allows a place for me to process difficult things as they are happening. I have been recommending it to all my friends, especially during such a difficult time. Easy to get set up! I was lucky that I really like my first therapist but I know you can swap for a new therapist for a better first.

I have left very few reviews in my life. My negative experience with betterhelp has prompted me to inform others. Paid up front for 4 sessions 320.00. First counselor was great had 1session. I got busy at work and didn't use the service for about a month. Counselor informed me my account was in a inactive status. When work allowed I followed procedures and reached out to another counselor, 2 weeks plus went by and never received a response. With 3 sessions left from the first 320.00 betterhelp charged my card again for another 320.00. I was not informed nor did I give authorization for this charge. Betterhelps customer service is a independant answering service. Leaving messages only prompts more non problem solving emails and at one point, in an email, was told they don't make phone calls. Funny thing when you want to give them money they get right on the phone. Ultimately we had to dispute the charge through are credit card company. Emails from betterhelp were not helpful, problem solving nor did they have a caring tone, quite the opposite. I feel web based companies should have a live customer service representatives TO HELP. Betterhelp does not! Their are plenty of counseling services available, save yourself aggravation and Do NOT choose betterhelp.

Transparent platform, that provides good online service, the therapist I had experience with was professional and did excellent job. Helped me out until I felt like I no longer needed his assistance. Practical solutions for situations as well as good advice on how to independently organize your thoughts when anxious.

Betterhelp has great therapists on staff. Everyone is very supportive and responsive.
