Sign up to this service at your peril. Despite never having had a session or even a conversation with a therapist and despite the fact that I emailed to cancel my subscription in late September, I have woken up this morning to find no money in my account after Betterhelp have taken £240. On closer inspection, they took £240 in October as well would explain why my card was refused at the supermarket leading to a very stressful incident which precipitated another bout of agrophobia and depression. For a service specifically for mental health, this is a complete joke. Taking money for nothing from mentally healthy people who then have to deal with the anxiety and trauma of getting it back is bad enough but to do that to someone who is already seriously struggling is totally inhuman.

I'm really sorry, Kate, for any confusion or disappointment stemming from recent payments to BetterHelp! If you emailed our team about a cancellation, we would have replied within one business day with instructions regarding how to cancel the subscription (in order to stop recurring payments). As a subscription service, we try to make it clear upfront that you're agreeing to automatic payments until cancellation takes place. In any case, I'd love to help you get this resolved and would be happy to explain the billing system with you further as it pertains to your account. I'll request some more information from you here through Trustpilot.
