It’s a great tool for easy and convenient access to therapy. I like the survey of the help I was looking for to find a therapist that could better address my issues. The match was very good, connecting me to a therapist that truly understands my issues and what tools and techniques work best for me to process.

I don't know where to start. My therapist was very good. We built a good rapport, they helped dig in and understand my feelings. However, the service is limited to one live session per week as well as one group session per week. The group sessions aren't hosted on the website so you're using whatever vessel the group therapist is using. The weekly cost is $65/week. However, they have a monthly billed rate of $45/week - which I found out after using betterhelp for a long period of time. Very. Poor. Service. For a site where people pay out of pocket for their service. Then when you dig in you can find other information about analytics and information policies which make it obvious this isn't a platform that cares about their subscribers. **After response from Betterhelp** Thank you - the therapist was fantastic. However, during the exit 'survey' when I was canceling the service, everything was around the therapist and how to change therapists. Not focusing on the issues that I outlined. **Your user privacy is unethical and shows low integrity. (ignored in response) **I do not need assistance in understanding how to schedule group sessions, I have done that.. it's not hard. My gripe isn't with difficulty, it's with using even less secure means to hold the group sessions outside of your .com (again, not understanding the issue) **Why would I need help changing plans? The only time I Was presented with an option to change my subscription was *when* I went to cancel it. **Also ignored the feedback around having to pay even without live sessions. With 'other features' like group sessions and online help docs which I'm sure are utilized by a very small minority of users. **There's 13 people in the US with my matching name. But sure.. you need my email to find my account. **Again, ignoring the unethical utilization of use data.

I recently subscribed to BetterHelp seeking specific types of therapy, but my experience has been disappointing due to a lack of transparency about therapist qualifications and the unclear subscription model. Firstly, when signing up, I wasn’t fully informed that I’d be committing to a four-week subscription before even meeting a therapist. I feel this aspect could be made much clearer upfront, as it leaves little room to evaluate the service before a significant financial commitment. My primary concern, however, is the lack of detailed information regarding therapist qualifications. I specifically sought a particular type of therapy from accredited therapists with advanced training, but the platform provides minimal information on therapist credentials. Simply listing "psychodynamic therapy" or "trauma-focused therapy" isn’t enough without details about the therapist’s actual qualifications, level of training, or accreditation for these modalities. There’s a big difference between having attended a short course versus being a fully qualified practitioner, which wasn’t adequately conveyed. I believe BetterHelp could improve by offering more transparency about therapists’ backgrounds and training levels and by giving potential clients the option to view comprehensive profiles before committing to a subscription. The profiles I was presented with were really lacking in detail. Overall I found Betterhelp to be very worrying!

I needed a specific kind of therapist and the Better Help staff really came through and helped me get matched up with the therapist I needed. The therapist I got matched with is very good with helping me with what issues I have. Using Better Help is way better than traditional therapy in my opinion, from what I hear therapy can be super expensive but with Better Help they make it affordable to get the help you need.
