More focused on making money than your health! Be careful when you sign-up here; As soon as your name is down, BetterHelp start charging you even before you've actually had your first session with a therapist. And such charging continues even if you're not using a therapist. To add insult, if you decide to cancel your membership, you're then told "Your sessions history may become unavailable after your membership ends". Great. I sign up, pay you money and when I want to leave and take my learnings with me so I can be strong and learn from my therapy, you tell me my history is unavailable. It's clear BetterHealth cares more about your membership and money than your underlying mental health and improvement.

The screening process has helped me to find just the right therapist for me. My therapist is the best fit for exactly my situation. I have had traditional therapy and it was great but this is so much better for me and my needs. It's convenient for me. My therapist is much more available and responsive. I have made a lot of progress with BetterHelp!

I am so very thankful that a friend sent me a link for BetterHelp during this very difficult time in my life. I have done both one on one therapy and taken two classes. I feel very certain that this will be a major part of my being able to move forward.

I feel completely let down by their service. I’ve had one-on-one sessions with a psychologist before, but never online. I decided to try it because of my busy schedule, thinking it would be more convenient. On paper, the therapist seemed highly qualified, but in reality, I wasn’t making any progress. It felt like I was just another number. She rushed through our sessions, didn’t remember key details from our previous discussions, and it felt more like talking to a friend with no therapeutic expertise. To make matters worse, they don’t provide the necessary codes or service numbers for insurance reimbursement, leaving me unable to claim anything. This has only added to my stress and made me feel worse than when I first reached out for help. I’m incredibly disappointed. It feels like the entire system is more focused on profit than genuinely helping people. Never again!

Betterhelp is great there people work do diligence to make sure that you get the help you need

I used BetterHelp earlier this year. Both therapists I had were very unprofessional. The first therapist was abysmal. Would be on her phone, distracted, just a terrible excuse for a therapist. It often felt like she wasn't listening and would just ask generic questions to keep my talking. So she didn't have to do anything. The second therapist was better but became unavailable for a short period of time after receiving a complaint from another client. I just overall felt completely let down by BetterHelp and felt it was a complete waste of money. They have therapists on their books who aren't fit for purpose - that is extremely dangerous when dealing with (and making money from) people who need support. I'm really angry, particularly looking back, that I used this service and have only just realised how bad it is that I had a therapist who would literally be on her phone during practice. Simply awful.

The matching algorithm missed the mark on the first pairing, but when I chose from the list of matches I found a good fit. The platform is fairly straight forward, but I am still a bit skeptical of the online therapy model. I personally prefer someone live/in-person, though my current work schedule does not allow for it. 45-minute live sessions definitely feel too tight; it’s been a while but therapy sessions were 60-90 minutes for me in the past. Video calls can be a bit glitchy, compared to other stronger platforms like Zoom. There are a lot of tools in the app that are good, but a bit redundant and hard to engage with for those of us that, for example, already journal in other ways. Overall, I’m grateful Better Help exists, and I believe it is a good option in certain circumstances.

It is very easy to schedule an appointment. After I answered their questions, I was assigned to a therapist who was a perfect fit. The phone app makes it effortless to schedule and contact the therapist.
