Affordable professional therapy online. For me, it functions as well as live therapy, maybe even better. I can schedule appointments in the evening (I live in Europe), and I can sit relaxed in my own home talking to my therapist. I am very satisfied with him and with the classes and group sessions that are offered, too. I am happy I found BetterHelp.

Bit of a scam - charges on a monthly basis, but if your therapist or you take leave then you still pay / the therapist doesn’t receive / the money goes to BetterHelp presumably to boost their profits - furthermore if you need to cancel a session due to unforeseen circumstances then by default you’ve lost that week, and again BetterHelp keep the money for themselves. If you absolutely do want to use them I would suggest only doing it as one-off ad hoc sessions.

I like this platform a lot, it’s really nice. I just wish that I knew when I was tech wing messages because I don’t get a notification that my therapist reached out to me. A call would be nice at times.

I’ve been using Better Help for almost a year now, having been apprehensive at first because of some negative things I had heard, all of it was wrong though. I love using better help and the easiness they make it to get a hold or respond to your therapist. As well as have a private journal that you can write in for yourself or easily share with your therapist. If you feel better with doing therapy from the safety of your home or need an emergency one in your car, I definitely recommend.

Definitely needs to be a priority in our lives and health to work through all life brings to each of us. Choosing your mental health ideally would be the first thing one should do to honor and create the foundation for healthy relationships throughout life.

The platform allows for weekly live sessions via chat, voice, or video, and I appreciate the flexibility to book additional sessions if necessary. What truly sets BetterHelp apart is the support available between sessions. My therapist remains accessible through chat throughout the week, allowing me to share journal entries or leave voice notes, which the service conveniently transcribes. This ongoing communication helps me develop new habits and behaviors effectively. Compared to previous therapy experiences, I have made significantly more concrete and consistent progress with BetterHelp. While I haven't yet tried the group sessions or additional courses they offer, I appreciate the variety of resources available. Overall, BetterHelp has transformed my approach to mental health support, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking professional guidance.

Overall I am not very happy with my experience with Better Help. I personally messaged my therapist and she confirmed my appointment time and I also got a confirmation email that my appointment was Monday 12/9 at 6pm. I followed the instructions and my therapist never showed up to the appointment. I find this highly unprofessional. If you are looking for a therapist I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I have been going through a lot of anxiety and stress and thought BetterHelp was a good resource to try for therapy. I signed up, paid for the subscription and booked my first session. Around 12:00pm the day of my first session (scheduled for 6:30pm) I get an email from the therapist saying she needed to reschedule for a family emergency. Totally fine, I have a family with young kids so I get it. I rescheduled for today and an hour and a half I get a message saying my appointment is cancelled and to let her know when I’m available to reschedule… zero explanation as to why so close to an appointment I have been looking forward to because I need help has been cancelled. I messaged back right away and zero response. This has put an extremely bad view on BetterHelp in my mind and I’m not sure I want to use the services. Extremely disappointing that I spent money on something that I never even got to use or get help from.
