This is a story about perseverance! In July. I decided I needed therapy. II have bipolar disorder and I was entering into a funk. I subscribed to BetterHelp. I was excited to get my therapist promptly, a perfect match. And this is where the power of having a pool accessible to you comes into play. He was awful — the connection was poor, he didn't introduce himself, and he failed to maintain eye contact. I complained and received a free week. I suspended my subscription and then went back on the horse. It was very easy to change. I changed the criterion for my therapist and found her. WE have formed a brilliant relationship that I would like to continue with in a maintenance plan. She replies promptly and always with such wisdom, The best thing that I can say about her is that she creates a safe environment quickly, where I can share, but not the extremely intimate matters. Because of this, we got through tidying my environment and 20-minute blocks, this has broken down seemingly insurmountable tasks to manageable ones. Through trusting the process, I became more comfortable and could deal with my self-confidence, boundary issues and self-esteem issues, Previous occasions with NHS therapists never resulted in becoming safe to dicsuss the more important matters. It shows that it is not always he first therapist that fits for you. That is the beauty of having a pool of therapists no matter where you live. Without a big pool, I would never have found the faith to help me with my issues. WE did a better-self work sheet and through our weekly work, I have become that person. Everything that I set out at the start of the sessions, we have tackled. She remembers stuff from previous sections, so you don't have to keep reminding her. A welcome relief to my previous experience, I can heartily recommend the BetterSelf team.
