The necklace unit should have a green light display when the battery is sufficiently charged. In stead it’s very confusing, especially for an elderly person. No light on the battery charge means either the unit has sufficient charge, OR if the whole unit is dead from a bead battery then there’s no light too. A green light would be reassuring. Also, the manual has print that’s ridiculously small. These are not features which are elder-friendly.

So far, everything they advertised has been correct. It was easy to set up, the cost is reasonable, and in testing, my "HELP" was quickly answered. I've already told one of my friends about it and will continue to recommend Bay Alarm Medical.

I am so disappointed with this company. I ordered their products for my sick mother. I ordered over the phone after they told me the address was covered in their cellular area. After I got their product I couldn’t get a signal. I called back and they told me the signal is very weak in the area where I was. I explained to the lady on the phone that when I called to order they verified the signal in my area and they told me it was good. She said my computer shows is not. I was like what the hell!!! So I had to return the product and what made it worse, they made me pay for shipping $35. Never again I’ll buy from them.

I think this product is below current technology. I wanted this in case I fell outside, but while doing yard work two days after the product arrived, I unknowingly triggered the alarm while pruning bushes. Then I did not hear the response machine, inside my house, & was unaware a false alarm was sent to 911--until paramedics arrived. Later on talking to a Bay Alarm agent, he suggested keeping a cell phone with me outside. Then it hit me--if I have cell phone on my person at all times inside or outside, why do I need you? So I cancelled the service. A lot of cell phones now have SOS buttons. What I could use is a daily phone check-in system, in case I had a stroke and could not call for help. But BA doesn't have that.

Unfortunately the Bay alarm system was not suitable for me because, after pressing the button to call for help from another room, I could not hear the responder's answer. This meant I did not respond to their query as to whether I needed help, and the Medics were called unnecessarily. Bay personnel did try to work with me to correct the problem. Because I had to package up the unit and return it to California from Ohio via UPS, and even though I was well within the 30-day cancellation period, I had to pay the return shipping of $20.95. This is my main negative comment.

Overall an excellent experience on all fronts, from order placement to delivery and installation. My mom is very happy! The only thing she mentioned is that she was concerned that you didn't ask for the meds she's taking... she felt it would be important in assessing an emergency situation... perhaps this is info you should consider requesting.

We feel relief knowing there is someone to help even when he’s alone. We know even when he pushes on accident they make sure he’s ok. We would recommend to anyone needing peace of mind for their loved one.
