I just lost my doberman yesterday, unfortunately this is my third bubby that I lose for a cancer under Banfield hospital, this I don't think is a coincidence, I trusted they, always had my dogs to their appointments and they just died by cancer, if they was really checked well the doctors will give the right diagnostic on time. My dog was defected black color that show is blood in the stood, but the Banfield doctor said was a bacterial infection I gave all the medicine prescribed and he never not better. Last Saturday I went to the emergency room with he and they said he may had cancer, and yesterday my dog passed away in a horrible way, vomited blood, pooping etc I fell devastated and frustrated and I wish nobody can have this horrible experience. Something in the clinic they have more then 30 dogs This is so unfair and my heart is broke

Banifeld wellness plan is an absolute waste of money. It’s a contract without them telling you! It’s a piece of s**t and I’m pissed cause it’s not insurance!

It's crap. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, they never know what my dog ​​has, and they charge you a lot more for the supposed things they do to the dog. You can pay their insurance more expensively and it does not cover anything. The doctors do not know anything, the worst thing is that you cannot get out of the insurance before because you have to pay it, THEY DO NOT LET YOU CANCEL IT IS A GARBAGE DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS

Absolutely terrible company. Never cares about pets, constantly tries to upsell services. It's disgusting at how transparently greedy they are. Today I took in my dog to get a simple prescription for seizures. The proper scrip is phenobarbital. They JUST did a blood test on him last month, but refused to give the prescription without another costly blood test for NO REASON WHATSOEVER. I have been taking 5 dogs there for 6 years. EVERY TIME there is a problem. It's impossible to get an appointment quickly, and every time they've tried to upsell me on something. They have misdiagnosed my dogs multiple times. I once took one of my dogs in for puncture wounds in his abdomen. The vet called me to recommend a skin cream for his elbow. It took me ten minutes of repeatedly explaining to him that the poor dog has bleeding puncture wounds in the abdomen until he finally saw them and said "oh I see them now". That's after my dog had been there for hours. The conduct of this company is criminal. I'm actually reporting them to the CA Attorney General. UPDATE: To the “reply” Banfield wrote citing their “concerns” and urging me to email them…I already did that. They replied with a bs copy/paste saying that they will forward my concerns to the hospital. In my long email I cited problems with multiple hospitals. I’ve actually just asked for all records and have decided to file a lawsuit for breach of contract. I’m also still reporting the to the Attorney General. I believe the behavior and business practices of Banfield to be unethical and profane; possibly illegal.

If I could rate a zero, I would. Banfield has been nothing but a problem! I have a cat who is 17 months old and has been battling an ‘ear infection’ since he was 2 months old. After going to banfield and being continuously put on medicine, COVID got worse and the hospitals were closed and my cat couldn’t be seen. His ear continued to get worse and when I was finally able to get him an appointment, it was at a different office because my normal office had closed. Fine. However, after 3 months of going back and forth, 3 ear swabs, 2 different ear cleaners, 2 types of ear medication and 7 visits to the office, we were getting no where. His ear was actually getting worse. The swelling was increasing and the debris was getting more constant. The last time I took him to banfield for an injectable antibiotic, the tech told me she didn’t think it was an infection because she couldn’t even see in his ear. After months of trying, I was finally able to be seen at a new vet. I was in and out within 1.5 hours. My cat was seen, diagnosed, given laughing gas, had a procedure to remove an EAR POLYP visible to the naked eye, reverse laughing gas and given pain meds for the amount it cost for 1 ear swab with Banfield. My cat’s whole ear canal was swollen as well as pressure on his eye nerve, forcing his eye closed. After switching my vet, I will deter anyone and everyone I can from choosing Banfield. Worst mistake of my life.

Figured I’d share this here as well. Be very careful of the fine print on your wellness plan. We had been bringing our dog to Banfield for vet services for nearly 13 years. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our sweet dog….with Banfield euthanizing him. When I contacted Banfield a few days later to cancel his wellness plan, I was essentially told: sorry for your loss…you owe the remaining 11 months of your wellness plan. I would understand if we had just abandoned Banfield services. But our dog is gone…and they’re now saying that we need to pay for nearly a year’s worth of upcoming wellness services for our deceased dog. Ironic thing is that they had said our dog had “really bad arthritis” in his rear legs during his last semi-annual visit. So we re-upped the plan to get him as much help as he could. When we brought him back in a few months later (and after we had re-upped), we were told by a different Banfield vet that our buddy had an incurable nerve issue and his life expectancy was months at absolute best, with nothing we could do to help him. Funny how we got the correct diagnosis AFTER we re-upped the plan. Utilize Banfield services at your own risk.

The absolute worst hospital ever!!! They charged me 586 dollars for a wellness plan for my dog which I paid and after they told me I never paid for it. Forced me to do monthly payments to pay something off I already bought, claiming they couldn't find in there system where I paid for it. This place is a scam

I have been a Banfield wellness plan customer for obver 10 years with 3 pets in total. There quality and customer service has continued to decrease over the past several years. Most recently my dog what appeared to be an infection and I needed to be seen right away. I was offered an appointment almost a month away. When I explained the urgency I felt the matter was I was told well if you want something sooner I suggest you go somewhere else. She was extremely rude and condescending. I called around and was treated much more respectfully and urgently. Banfield ratio of wellness plan holders to vets continues to shrink, Too many customers and not enough vets.
