Anti-Trans in Ohio! Now I am cured? Amazing how "open minded" these folks for Anthem BCBS MyCare Ohio are before you sign up. I called to confirm a few things before 1-01-26, my FORMER start date. I was told ON A RECORDED CALL (by me, as Ohio is 1 party only consent) the only way I could get help was to give my dead name (birth name) that Social Security has. My transgender sex could also not be changed, like WellCare of Ohio did. I told the reps that there are other ways to identify me... but was refused to be done. Even the rep who did the disenrollment for 1-01-26 coverage on 12-23-25 also misgendered me and was corrected a few times. The lady, on a recorded call, again... claimed she has Trans in her family. Odd how all haters use this exact phrase. I sent the recording to a case manager. Now, I am without health insurance, with good reason. I told Medicare after the call.... "I'm apparently cured of diabetes, seizure disorder, congenital heart issues, mental health issues, etc." I had to cancel all January 2026 appointments, in hopes that I find a single LGBTQAI2S+ friendly or supportive Medicare and Medicaid insurer. I told my case worker that my mental health is at stake. After all, I can't get meds now. Hmmmmm, abuse or meds? Which is more important? I truly believe i have just cause to disenroll from them, according to the recording I made. Medicare and Insurance provider complaints go nowhere. CMS no longer takes complaints on insurance, as they call themselves "no surprises hotline." I have tried many times to file greviances/complaints, with no positive results on ANY anti-trans Medical insurer. FYI: HIPAA allows trans individuals to confirm their identity with various other methods, like DOB, SS#, email address... and some places use code words. You DO NOT need to give a birth or even a dead name! JUST WRONG!!!!! Interesting how the US and Ohio Governments both pay these abusers to abuse citizens and the disabled. Congress needs to act on this!

Unable to manage prescriptions because website is constantly down.

They are billing me for a bill I cant pay cause I have only support from grandma. This isnt fair that I quit Kroger as of May 15th and was told that by the end of May they would take care of that process. Now received bill in December. Why is it surfacing just now? Thats messed up

Absolutely awful customer support. It is literally impossible to determine whether a provider is covered under an Anthem HMO plan. After being transferred between four representatives over two hours, one finally told me, “No, I cannot help you determine if a provider is in network.” When I asked if anyone at Anthem could answer that question, they replied, “No, there is nobody at Anthem who can answer questions about coverage under Anthem’s plans.” I couldn’t have said it better myself. An evil company with soul-draining communication practices.

It has been going on over 3 hours. I have been on hold for hours cannot get anyone for tech support cannot log on. Customer service lady bounced me to four different people one was as useless as the next, they ask for the same information over and over and over, most do not speak understandable english. It goes round and round telling us to log in, but when you cannot log in then what? Then they wonder why people do not get care they need and it give more reasons to deny things when you cannot get any information at all let along correct information. To call it a disgrace is being polite.

They were calling me every day to setup an appointment with a nurse practitioner to speak over the phone about my health when I see my primary doctor. This is redundant, harassment, extremely stressful, and not trustworthy. This feels like they don't trust my primary doctor. My medical is between my primary doctor and no other person. They say this is once a year for 30 minutes too damn long and not need. Why force something as a paying customer should not go through? Don't they know about HEPA!!!

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET THIS ADVANTAGE PLAN! They lie to you, the dental insurance is nil. Liberty Dental is not good insurance. I pay for a local dentist so I don’t have to drive 1 1/2 hours to see the only dentist that takes Anthem. Then, they only accept parts of it. Does not cover DENTURES! The mail order Pharmacy (CARELONRX) have NO IDEA what they are doing. Can’t get my Repatha in at all! When I signed up my Repatha prescription was ZERO COPAY. When I go to fill it they are charging me a $109.00 COPAY. It started out as a tier 2 & was changed to a tier 3 after I accepted the insurance. One headache after another. It won’t let me put in the entire 9 months of the date of experience but I am still to this day, SEPTEMBER 9,2025 dealing with these morons! Just don’t get this policy & save yourself a ton of headaches.

STAY AWAY FROM THEIR SPENDING ACCOUNT: I opened a spending account this year. $499 fraudulent transaction was made in March. They did not bother to send me an email or text for two weeks. When they did, I told them to cancel the transaction immediately because it wasn’t me. I had my card so it wasn’t used physically. They did not cancel the transaction. I kept sending them messages to cancel it and refund my money. But No progress at all. 54 days later, they sent me a message on their platform with a dispute form attached but again no email no text no call. I logged in anthems website and saw that they sent me this form a week ago. I submitted the form. And their answer is “form should be submitted within 60 days after the transaction was done”. Almost 6 months later, they marked the transaction as ineligible and told me that I owe them $499 and my account is blocked until I pay them$499. So I cannot even use the money left in the account now. STAY AWAY.
