We were seen for an eye appointment. We were charged two times for the same amount on our card. We have tried for weeks now to get it resolved, with no luck. I finally spoke to someone at the “main” office, only to be told that they have located the charge and will request a refund (again.) To too it off, the lady said that if it didn’t show back up in the back in the next few days, the only thing she could suggest is to keep waiting. She really said that. Do NOT do business with this company!

I went in with the understanding I was to have a free exam (only with 2 pairs of glasses, I later found out), and was charged 50.00 plus an additional 20.00, which I previously agreed to under the understanding of the "free exam." I found this out only after finding a frame that matched my requirements (semi-wrap, transitions max, in brown). All included, I would've paid almost 400.00, with the under-discussed exam(s). I paid my 70.00 and left. The bait-and-switch tactics employed to get people in the door feel deceptive to customers, so a change is needed. I cannot fathom how many people needing glasses are pressured into paying a bill they cannot afford, or the blunt abuse of insurance to justify the charges. I went down the street and paid 100.00 less for virtually the same glasses, factoring in the 70.00 exam. Capitalism is terrifyingly efficient at stripping people of their money. Do research before stepping into this business.

Went to get eye exam and it was supposed to be free, but ended up paying $30.

I shop the location in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Yes, America's Best offers "affordable" glasses, but that isn't the only service they provide. They provide, well.... SERVICE. Every single staff person has been attentive, professional and committed to ensuring your experience is better than expected. I bought 3 pairs of glasses during my first visit. The pair I bought on my next visit weren't what I had hoped. I returned to the store prepared to be disappointed. However, Pam- the manager- was determined to make things right and went above and beyond to ensure that was the case. She and her staff are exceptional at customer service. I wish more retail establishments followed their example. I have recommended this store to many friends and family. I will certainly return. O and I am continuously complemented on my eyewear.

Arrived a few minutes early to my appointment and was greeted then directed to the check-in area. Lookup my appointment ...."yes we have you ..how will you be paying today" I said I have a Flexcard (VISA) from my Medicare Advantage provider Wellcare. I handed the both cards over. The clerk said they had not heard of the company, returned my cards and stated that America's Best would not accept my Visa card?. Great!... I suggested it would have been nice if they had asked that payment question online or informed users of their policy of not accepting VISA. The clerk said I should have asked my provider who accepts their cards? So it is my fault? I was about just go ahead and just get it done using cash but before I could say anything I was waved aside and basically dismissed. Embarrassed me to death...like I was trying to steal something and my money wasn't good enough. When I re-read America's Best FAQ on their website it clearly states: "Can I use my FSA \(flex spending account\) or HSA \(health savings account\) to pay for my purchase? Yes"

The first time I went to America's Best I picked out frames. They were never fitted to my face and even after taking them back twice they still don't fit. I went back a year later, because I believe in second chances, and had the same experience. The doctor was great but the retail center is filled with a bunch of untrained people that are simply there for the purpose of selling goods. In addition, on my second visit, I was quoted a price with my insurance for my doctor's visit and frames. I paid in full at that time. 7-MONTHS LATER I received another bill for an additional $160! I will never use this company again!

Absolutely terrible place to go! My husband confirmed his appointment for tomorrow at the Green Bay store. Ten minutes later he got a call saying his appointment was cancelled and couldn't get another until June. A little Birdy told me that corporate fired all their opticians and optometrists so now they don't have any. I think it's odd because I went through this same thing two years ago when I tried to make an appointment. I DON'T recommend this place. Go to a private practice, avoid places like these.
